the overall experience was just incredible:
the rooms were extremely clean
the staff were so friendly and helpful
the breakfast was very tasty and had a great selection

We where welcomed by Mohand. Very nice, polite and professional. He explained where the room was and explained about the gym. We were also given an upgrade! 10/10 welcome and 5 star service!

There is limited information on the rooftop lounge. The bathroom features a television but it is not operational. This omission from the room description suggests the experience may not be as advertised. The shower rainfall is pleasant but the limited space prevents free movement outside the shower unless the water is temporarily turned off. The balcony has chairs but they are too large for the space. The hotel bar lacks clear signage indicating whether it offers table or bar service. Upon approaching the bar, we were instructed to sit down, which we assumed was table service. However, after 10 minutes no one came to take our order despite there being five people in the bar. We subsequently decided to dine in the restaurant which was excellent. The only downside was the Guinness which tasted unusual and was not served in a traditional Guinness glass. The Bedroom’s air conditioning was also inadequate. Furthermore, the coffee cups were dirty and we had to request replacements. This suggests a lack of attention to cleanliness during the cleaning inspection.

the staff are amazing here, always so warm and attentive. it has been this way for years which is very assuring and keeps us coming back. The front desk were accommodating with a slightly earlier check in which is always very lovely. food is good quality at both the bar and the restaurant. We availed of lunch time food ,snacks and drinks, dinner at the formal dining room and breakfast in the morning. All were delicious with excellent service. The menu is varied and great wine list to accompany.
The decor of this hotel is really tired. in particular the bedrooms and the spa. I have stayed here on different occasions over the last few years. little if anything has been done to modify and upgrade to a better standard. we booked one of the best suites.. honestly it felt dingy and stale. the lighting is very dark and furnishings are old. I did not feel relaxed in this space. On a positive the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The spa area did not feel as clean as previous stays. there was a strong sulphur smell from the changing rooms which was very unpleasant . The pool area seems tired and in need of some upgrades. The Massage I had was nice, but poor communication on where my therapist would find me meant missing 10minutes and felt rather rushed at times.
To summarise this hotel has the potential to be really great. its location is secluded and peaceful but the rooms and spa do not reflect this. The areas above and below ground floor desperately need an overhaul. We will continue to come here on occasion for food and drinks but I would not stay here again or use the spa in its current condition
