The location was great and the staff were friendly.
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the overhead shower didn't work and the air con was noisy and not easy to adjust.

We were politely greeted by Adam at check in on our arrival.
I booked a King Guest Room & breakfast for two adults over my two day stay.
The room was clean & tidy, well presented, plenty of drawer & wardrobe space & plenty of clean plush bathroom linen.
The door that covers our mini bar fell off after being opened a few times & the basin would not hold water as there was no seal on the pop up plug.
On reporting this to reception on the first morning of our visit we were offered a room move, however this wasn’t conveniant as we had made arrangements to go sight seeing on our stay & not lose time having to move rooms.
It took 36 hrs to get the issue with the plug sorted [ a big personal shout out to Adam] for his persistence & diligence in getting the problem sorted after personally having to do a lot of leg work getting management to visit the room to witness the faults, being promised that he would pass this on to house keeping/maintenance only to be find out that the hotel has no maintenance staff working at weekends!!
Also no record of the breakfast I had booked as part of our stay & put in a embarrassing situation on the Sunday morning by the restaurant manager of this fact in front of other hotel guests.

Breakfast was great however location was unsuitable as we couldn't parking facility does not cover a blue badge.
Room became overheated and we were told that there was no engineer at weekends. Had to change room which was very long walking distance for my disabled daughter. It was very traumatic for both of us plus when I request for a disabled bathroom with a walk in shower, I was told they had none attached time of my request with any alternative. Stayed 2 nights without a shower but just top and tail performed. So disappointed as Hilton was supposed to be the best.

Nothing - a complete rip off
This hotel room was booked from New Zealand as a birthday gift of accommodation and a concert for our daughter in London. On the morning of her check a tragic family death prevented her staying. She immediately rang the hotel and booking.com and gave them all the details, offering to stay another date. She was advised by the hotel that the prepaid fees would be refunded to us; I called the hotel from New Zealand and was told the same. Booking.com advised me that it was up to the hotel to use compassionate discretion. Not only did they not refund the fees but they charged my card $700.36 NZ (almost twice the price of the original booking).
We had called friends in London that day to offer them the concert tickets and had suggested to them if they wanted to contact the Islington Hilton our daughter's now vacant room might still be available (though they would have to pay themselves). When they contacted the hotel at 6pm they were told there were no rooms available for the night so our daughter cancelled booking was obviously on sold to someone else .
So there was not only no compassion from the Hilton Islington hotel management for a death , they also made more money by charging us extra AND then charging whoever stayed in that room.
