The shower was great- good water pressure and different settings. The room was nice and big. It was great to have a spa on site to use. There was fruit infused water available in the spa and reception. The location is convenient and near transport and Tower Bridge. The room had good soundproofing and black out curtains. Check out and bag storage was quick.
My stay was such a disappointment. I checked into my room to find the toilet had not been cleaned at all from the last guest and there was a large ball of hair on the floor by the toilet. The reception changed my room only for me to find the toilet in that room had stains (that wiped off/just hadn't been cleaned) over the toilet seat! The reception upgraded my room and moved me again. This room was cleaner but still had splash marks over the headboard, stains on the wall, sticky stuff on the floor and one of the lights was damaged with the shade hanging down. Never in all of my hotel stays elsewhere have I needed to move rooms. Throughout this process and also in all of my interactions with the only exception of concierge, the staff seemed unhappy/grumpy. There was no conversation. No genuine apology about the situation. The woman on the reception to the spa in the evening didn't even look up. The breakfast was so disappointing! Lots of choice which looks amazing when you walk in. Unfortunately, the pastries were rock hard (they seemed to be kept under a heat lamp), there were no bowls for cereal, a dirty serviette and cutlery from the last guests left on the table I was given, the granola and yoghurt pots +which looked great) seem like they were made up some time ago/frozen as they were watery. As I am waiting to have my gallbladder out, I didn't dare try the cooked breakfast as it looked quite greasy. In the evening the spa was packed and there was rubbish/left cups, wet towels all over the place. Nothing seemed monitored- signs up saying no phone but several people were on their phones and taking photos. One couple were even drinking a bottle of wine in the sauna!! This is the worst hotel stay I have ever had and actually it is the one I paid the most per night for.
