The room was very stuffy hot the thermostat did not work but the staff was kind to get a fan upon request , very hot stuffy room

Location was fine
Despite the clearly stated fact that there would be air-conditioning, this was not the case. This was our first time in London, and this entire experience has negatively impacted due to our stay since we had no good night's rest the first day. For a bit of context, my family of 3 decided to stay at the hotel for a weekend trip during the hottest period when temperatures were through the roof. We were offered a dusty fan to resolve a problem that clearly wasn't going to resolve anything. Since we wanted to still make use of the hours of the day we decided to leave for dinner in the hopes that the room's temperature would go down since the receptionist instructed us to come back after a few hours if there would be no changes. We went to dinner, came back, and had no change in temperature. We waited at the front desk and demanded to talk to the manager. No one was present, so we had to come back in the morning. So no good night's rest for us since we found out the hard way how dusty this fan was after turning it on. We cleaned it out, but the damage was done. Since 2 of us had allergies, we were unable to sleep properly at all. The next day we complained (after having gone 3 times on the day of arrival already), the receptionist wanted us to reschedule our plans to come back early in the afternoon to check if the air-conditioning would be functional. Now, I refused this non solution because after walking around the 2nd floor appeared as if the entire floor air-conditioning was not operational. Furthermore, on the day of arrival another pair of guests had similar complaints on the same floor and had told us that this would seem to be a common problem on the entire floor. They warned us before heading downstairs to request assistance because the room was very hot. After waiting for a good while, the receptionist came back and promised us a new room for our last night and compensation for the other night.
