Excellent location. Super staff on the reception desk - our check-in and check out experiences were efficient and pleasant. The king room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and we had a great view of Hyde Park.
Our bathroom was tiny, but that’s London for you!!

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton to celebrate our anniversary, and while we did enjoy aspects of our stay, unfortunately the overall experience was more stressful than we had hoped for on such a special occasion.
When we arrived, I was informed that the hotel’s server was down and that guests were being checked in manually. Although this understandably made the process longer, the lady at reception was absolutely lovely and did everything she could to be helpful.
We were also told that we had been selected as Guests of the Day and would receive complimentary drinks and breakfast. This was a lovely gesture, and we appreciated it. However, when booking our stay, we had already paid for breakfast. I asked whether the breakfast could either be refunded or exchanged for dinner, but unfortunately this wasn't possible. The receptionist was nevertheless very kind and offered us a delicious cookie, which we appreciated.
The room itself was very nice and clean. However, there were a few issues. The curtain was broken, meaning that light came through in the morning, and the telephone in the room was not working. This was particularly inconvenient as we were unable to call room service at around 1am.
What made the situation slightly better was that several members of the team had contacted me on my mobile phone to check whether everything was okay, which showed that they were genuinely trying to look after us.
We later wanted to order breakfast to our room, but there was no breakfast menu in the room and we couldn't find anything on the hotel's website. As the room telephone wasn't working either, I explained this to the team. At around 8am, I was told that someone would bring us a menu.
The manager came shortly afterwards and asked what we would like to order. I explained that we hadn't received a menu and therefore didn't know what was available.

A litlle bit of decoration to the entrance will reflect the hidden warmth of the hotel because the entrance is very “dry » looks like a government office
