Complete disaster! Please read carefully and avoid this hotel at all costs!!
Our arrival at Conrad London St James was a frustrating series of mistakes. Check-in took half an hour, only for us to be assigned twin rooms when we had booked and paid more for king rooms. There was no telephone in the room, so we had to return to reception. Staff explained that the rooms had recently been renovated and some items were still missing. We were then offered an accessible room, which did not suit our needs. After we declined, we were assigned another room—only to walk in and find another guest already inside having dinner. This was a serious privacy and security failure. After returning to reception for the third time, we finally received a king room. Sorting out the room allocation took almost another hour. We asked to speak with the manager, but they did not come out to meet us. When we finally settled in and tried to make tea, we found dirty cups covered in milk stains. The whole process felt disorganised, with little accountability or care for the guests waiting at reception. At a premium price, this fell far short of the service, cleanliness and basic competence we expected from a five-star hotel.

Experience with all areas used went very well. Being opposite St. James Station made it so easy to quickly get around London.
I had thought someone removed to TV remote from the room in error at a time, but it was my fault who did not realize it had only been moved to another end in the room.
