Convenient location, quiet, comfortable
Queuing at reception to check in. When it’s busy and there are four staff on the desk, there should be one queue so that the next person goes to whichever of the four staff becomes available first. This is done at Sofitel and is a fairer system than 3 or 4 separate queues.

Breakfast was excellent.
Location for going to Covent Garden/West End is excellent too. Bus very convenient. (# 15 and # 26 as I recall, going both ways). Cheap.
Nothing.

Very Poor
Avoid. Romantic staying completely ruined.
I paid extra to get a room with “city views” but instead they gave me a room overlooking an alleyway and my view was completely obstructed by a tall office building - no view of the city as advertised.
I didn’t like the audacity of charging me extra for a room with “city views” and giving me a room overlooking some tall office building and a side street. No views of the city.
My romantic staying and the experience I paid for was ruined. Completely shameless.

Fair
The rooms are nothing like what was promised and are very far from what the photos suggest. The reality does not match the marketing.
During a single week-long stay, we experienced an endless series of problems, far more than should ever occur in a hotel at this price level.
If I had known this in advance, I would have chosen a different place — and I strongly recommend others do the same.

The hotel is not recommended. It was an endless collection of malfunctions and disappointments. I felt as if I had come to work at the hotel rather than to be a guest.
I booked a Junior Suite in advance and expected a spacious and comfortable room. The room we received was deeply disappointing, poorly designed, and extremely impractical. The duty manager was kind enough to show us several alternative rooms, but they were all equally unpleasant — cramped, poorly laid out, and with a closed, claustrophobic design rather than an open, inviting space.
Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. We spent six nights in February in a freezing room. We asked for the issue to be addressed and were told that the air conditioning had probably not been switched to heat mode and that it would be fixed immediately. Of course, it was not fixed, and the room temperature remained cold. Eventually, they had to bring us a portable heater.
The shower head was defective. Once again, we were promised an immediate fix, but it was replaced with another faulty shower head.
And the final insult: after spending an entire day out, we returned to find that the room had not been cleaned. We were then informed that the hotel follows a policy of cleaning rooms only once every three nights unless guests explicitly request otherwise. It is unclear to me why daily cleaning is not the default, unless a guest chooses to opt out. I did not pay a discounted rate; I paid full price — and more — expecting full service.
In summary, do yourselves a favor and choose a different hotel — one that respects its guests.
