A dignified, elegant experience. I only stayed for one night but was made to feel as welcome as in a dear friend's home. The furnishings in their lounge are classicly tasteful, the drinks expertly made, the staff convivial and genuine. The cherry on the top was having my requested copy of The New Yorker magazine waiting in my room. My new favourite London stay. I will absolutely visit again.

This hotel is truly exceptional. The price, of course, reflects its quality; but is reasonable when one considers the extraordinary level of service, and that it includes, in effect, a full evening meal in the superb 'executive lounge' as well as breakfast. The place is beautiful and tasteful, luxurious without being ostentatious, in the manner of a good London club; the service achieves just the right balance of friendliness, efficiency and formality, and piped music is blissfully absent. It is too expensive for most to go there often, but I chose it to cheer myself up before a medical operation the next day. It worked.
