Close to all amenities and it had all necessary items you need from a hotel. Quick check-in and staff explained everything clearly.
It was free parking but on the street.

The building
It would have been nice if breakfast could have been from 7 am as we haas to go to the aquatic centre for 8.30 am so our breakfast was rushed and didn't have time to enjoy it or have a hot drink.

It was fine for a short trip
It needs modernising throughout, it’s an old style feel, which I like too, the continental breakfast was ok.

Exceptional value for money including breakfast and parking. Bus stop outside hotel to take you to city centre.
Hotel starting to look a bit tired. Parking onsite a little limited although plenty of free parking on roadside.

Wonderful
Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and housekeeping gave us clean towels each day. We decided to leave our car in the car park and travel into the centre on the bus. George was able to advise us which buses and the stops were close by and other amenities in the area.
We were there 4 nights and it was a great base for travelling into the city. As there is still a great deal to visit in Liverpool we will definitely be going back to the Mountford.
A big plus for me was that whoever had converted the Mountford Hotel had done so sympathetically the plaster coving etc seemed intact.

I stayed here with my son during a short trip to Liverpool, and we found the hotel by chance. Initially, I was a bit surprised by the £50 deposit policy, as it's not common in many hotels. But after staying here, I completely understand and appreciate the reason.
The hotel is located in a beautifully preserved old building, much of it wooden. The furniture in the room is not standard hotel furniture — it’s elegant and clearly valuable. There was a lovely rug on the floor, and the curtains, windows, and other fittings all reflected care and quality. It makes perfect sense that such a place would require a deposit.
The location is peaceful and quiet, yet only a 10-minute bus ride from the city centre. There are two large parks nearby which we really enjoyed exploring. Overall, we had a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Liverpool.

Location was great
Lack signs inside premises stating where was the main exit & reception. A bit confusing at the time of checking out. But overall the hotel was nicely located and the staff was very helpful.

Pleasant
The hotel felt like it was on the decline. What once may had been a trendy, popular hotel is in the past and the current hotel is holding onto what it can.
It gave a room that had hot water, a fan because it was hot, and free breakfast, but everything felt like it was on a budget, the picnic benches are falling apart, the rugs well used, exterior security cameras blocked by overgrown vegetation.
It had all the elements of a budget hotel, there was still a fire escape plan, the doors worked, the lights were on, but I expect that from every place. There were just hints of the place on the decline. Some of the lights flickered, the staff seemed over worked, there was a sign for a restaurant entrance but obviously wasn’t around anymore. There was a lovely spot in the back of an outdoor patio but there was a sign that it couldn’t be used for some reason. It had WiFi but my computer was saying it had weak security and refused to allow me to connect to it.
Just felt kind of sad.
