Disappointing
It looked out onto sefton park
the water was white and cloudy coming out the tap and the shower water was brown. When i went to ask a member of staff about this there was no one there.

The location itself was great for what I needed. Close to lovely cafes shops etc and of course Sefton Park.
There was no hot water in the shower so when I turned on the bath tap instead it ran brown. I left it running for about a minute but still disgusting.
There were absolutely no facilities open despite it being middle of August (high season!). There was a bar area and a cafe area but both closed!
The manager was ok but only available via mobile.

Great location. Helpful manager
The 2 rooms we stayed in where very run down and coud do with much needed refurbishment. The furnishings ( chairs, bedside cabinets etc) are very very dated and broken, the mattresses were old and you could feel the springs and to make it worse one of the beds had the base divan broken in the middle making the mattress sag and be very uncomfortable. Wanted to have a bath and in both bathrooms the water came out full of rust so had to leave the water run for 20min for the water to clear up.

The location was excellent, the hotel is a beautiful Victorian property. The manager Hassan was very helpful and tried his best, he changed one of the rooms to a much bigger one but still very dated, humid & musky.

The property was in a lovely area right opposite Sefton Park where we were attending a concert . The manager who was very helpful, upgraded our room to one over the park which had a lovely park view. The windows were old style sash so we were able to open the windows wide to let in plenty of fresh air. The bed was very comfortable
I have stayed at this property several years ago when it was a Best Western brand hotel! It is in a very poor state of repair internally now. Our bath panel was broken. The shower went from hot to cold frequently and then stopped altogether. There was no breakfast available at the property unless we ordered with the manager as it was outsourced. Lark Lane is very local so we were able to have a delicious breakfast only 10 mins walk away. Value wise and location for the concert we were attending it was great but otherwise would definitely not recommend. Booking.com 4 stars is totally incorrect.
