The location is good for the Quayside and Tate Modern and the centre of town. Easy to find.
Whilst the location is central it's literally on top of James St train station and amongst the low end cheap bars, which means a lot of drunk guys and rough sleepers. The hotel could do more to keep their entrance clean. Rubbish everywhere and dirty. The staff have zero interest in guests. They have self check in and should dispense with the reception staff as they are not interested and more keen to sit huddled in the office chatting and swearing. The room it'sself was fine but the pillows and mattress protecter should be thrown out. Filthy. see photos. The shower spewed water everywhere, which was obviously an ongoing problem as the door had swollen and depanelled. Not a hotel I would return to.

This wasn’t my first stay here, I’m a returning guest and I always choose this hotel when I come to Liverpool. The rooms are very spacious, actually very large, and clean, with all the comforts. The staff at reception are helpful, and the location is excellent. This time I also had a view over Pier Head and the water, which made the stay even better
There is nothing that disappointed me in this hotel. That’s why I keep booking here every time I come to Liverpool.

I’m writing to raise a complaint regarding my recent stay and the Silver Package I purchased.
I found the experience quite frustrating, mainly due to a lack of clear communication. At no point on arrival was I informed that helium was unavailable. I also did not see your message about this, which meant I had to visit reception three separate times regarding the balloon.
On my first visit, the gentleman with glasses asked if we were heading out and assured me the balloon would be in the room when we returned. On the second visit, after finding no balloon, I was again told to come back in the morning and it would be sorted. It was only on my third visit, this morning, that I was finally informed by a member of staff that there was no helium available. This inconsistency was disappointing.
Had I been made aware of this prior to arrival, I would have cancelled the package. In its current form, I feel that £35 is overpriced for what was provided: a single banner, six balloons, a small box of Maltesers, and mini bottles of Prosecco. The package description referred to “banners” (plural), which led me to expect more decoration throughout the room.
I have purchased similar packages at other hotels for a lower price and received a much more impressive setup. In comparison, this felt rushed and underwhelming.
Additionally, we had to wait approximately 15–20 minutes upon arrival as the room was not ready at the stated check-in time, which added to the overall dissatisfaction.
While I appreciate the gesture of offering an extra drink, I do not feel this adequately compensates for the issues raised—particularly the repeated trips to reception, the lack of clear communication, and the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was delivered.
I want to stress that I am not trying to be difficult, but I am genuinely disappointed with the experience, especially given that this was the Silver Package.

it was really comfortable and the shower was fantastic after a long day walking, the desks were much better than most hotels too
chair for the desk was a bit creeky and at one point somebody was having a fairly loud phone call in the hallway that felt like they were standing next to me
