Close to everything , plenty of places to hang out inside the hotel . Convenient store access the road , close to airport bus and train station.
It was so hot and we were only able to have one fan on the top floor . No AC .

Wonderful
The hotel is beautiful and it was a wonderful experience. Was close enough to the city center to walk and very close to multiple train and bus stops, making getting around the city easy. Cost of the stay couldn't have been better. There were some features that obviously showed the hotel's 100+ years old age, (cracks, grout popping loose, etc), but as an American, it's impossible to find anything safe and clean for less than $100 a night. American travelers used to standardized luxury in accommodations might be disappointed, but don't pass the Adelphi up for a comfortable stay in a historic hotel.
Small detail, but the hot water was hard to adjust. We never didn't have hot water nor did we run out of hot water, but you had to work very hard for it not to be scalding hot, which was a little odd.

Good
We had no housekeeping come in while we stayed for two nights three days, it was a heat wave of 35 to 40°. Windows didn’t open, no air-conditioning, ran out of toilet paper, was surprised there was no shampoo and conditioner for your hair.
Really liked the grand sitting area in the centre of the hotel, and I liked the old feel in the history of the hotel.

Wonderful
My room was lovely but there was one minor problem which the manager Joe came to investigate immediately. He made the decision to move me. He was very good and professional. I felt very well looked after. The building is so beautiful. A very pleasant stay.
I was disappointed that I didnt have the choice to pay in cash. They only take cards.

Poor
Good location
On biggest night for years, the bar could not serve drinks as in was card only and the card machine was not working !
No initiative or care, just told to go elsewhere.
Went to reception, no one there , although I could hear them all talking behind in the office.
Finally someone came out, booked breakfast and asked what time in open, told 7 am.
Went straight down as it was 7:00 am doors shut. Someone came by and I asked can I go in. No was the abrupt reply. Now 7:05.
Around 7:10 manager turns up with a sign to say it won't open for a while as staff shortage.
Went back to reception to get a refund. Got it, but will not be back on my card for 5 days.
On the Hottest day of the year a rubbish experience.
Will never use this hotel ever again

Very Good
A budget experience in a former luxury hotel.
Great location in central Liverpool. Comfortable bed and new bathroom. OK for one night. Staff doing their best.
Price very reasonable.
First impressions were not good due to plastic dust sheets across the frontage. I think customers could be told if there's work being done on arrival.
The check-in was very brief as there were queues.
We couldn't open the windows in our room (though we could see others could). Seemed to have been painted shut. As it was very hot, we had to have the fan on all night..which wasn't great. The plug in the bathroom didn't stop water draining out. The ironing board cover was in shreds.

Wonderful
We have stayed here several times and always had lovely rooms. The location is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.
I thought the breakfasts were not as good as they used to be. Less fresh fruit selection and the yogurt was watery.
