Sadly we arrived prior to refurbishment and scaffolding was erected during our stay. The staff did their best to ensure we were not too disturbed but the scaffolding made a lot of noise during one night.
The carpets. Badly stained throughout the hotel. Hopefully these will be renewed during the refurbishment.

A porter walked into my room at 02:30am because he thought it was empty - very disconcerting! They did make amends by offering a free cocktail voucher for the inconvenience and all was sorted.

Our stay was really nice and the location is perfect. The staff were all friendly. On arrival we were given fresh milk in a flask for the room as well as filtered water. They also provide ear plugs and an eye mask next to the bed which I thought was a nice touch!
