Disappointing
Room was warm and clean except for the cob webs above the tv and door
The beds were hard and pillows even harder .didn't accommodate for people with dietary requirements as no lactose milk

It looks presentable on the outside and common area.
Room looked presentable on the surface but it actually wasn’t clean at all. Urine stain was seen on toilet bowl seat, bathroom ceiling filled with mould, shower door was spoiled, hair found on bed and pillow, room smelled bad.

The hotel was completely renovated last year with new carpets and painted throughout. Unfortunately it’s already in need of renovation
We were moved from our initial booking at the Waverley Inn to the Waverley Inn Lodge which was up two flights of stairs and next to a snooker hall - not acceptable for a disabled person but we were told there were no other rooms available. The young member of staff explained there had been a mix up due to a complete change of staff from our previous visit.
The room was not clean or hoovered. The breakfast was not updated from the Saturday to the Sunday so the milk had gone off and there was only 1 pancake, 3 slices of stale bread, 2 chocolate things and no water for the kettle. Even worse, no staff at either property to be found.
This is not acceptable for the money we paid

Very good well-heated ensuite room. Very clean and very quiet. The hotel is located in the town centre so is very for local amenities and attractions.

Good
Room was comfortable and clean, reasonable amount of space in room. Shower was hot.
Don't listen to all the negative reviews, they are most likely written by people who want to pay absolute minimum but expect top class service and standards, we even witnessed this during our stay with some guests causing a big issue late at night with the poor night porter about some very minor issue. For the money and comparative to price of other establishments, this place is actually pretty good and if it was still the cheapest place I would come back, I have stayed in much worst places.
Shower cubicle quite small. Communal areas / hallways stairs could be better maintained as was quite dusty. There was some damp ceiling damage in our room needs redecorating.
They should really provide shower gel and soaps etc but there was nothing provided.

Very Poor
Bedroom curtains were hanging off the curtain rails.
Breakfast was poor, a distinct shortage of cutlery ( no spoons to eat your breakfast cereal with ).
On our first morning, I had to phone staff with regard to getting cutlery, only to be told that they couldn't do anything about that as they weren't in the building, and that I should eat the breakfast cereal with a teaspoon.
However, upon my insistence, staff from the establishment across the road did arrive with spoons.
Frankly,customer service was non-existent.
Beds were uncomfortable, mattresses very soft, no support for your back.
There was a total lack of security in the building, with individuals, clearly under the influence of alcohol banging bedroom doors, and shouting. No action was taken by the management with regard to this. There are no real signs of staff being at all.
I would strongly advise giving this establishment a very wide berth.
