The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful despite v difficult circumstances - having to deal with the constant complaints of guests.
No hot water for two nights. Fire alarms going off because of the rain - leaky roof. Both Obviously ongoing problems. Disgusting smell along hallway due to a previous flood.

The swimming pool was quite not packed so it was good .
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The worst part was the lack of hot water, which made it really uncomfortable, especially after a long day. This is something basic that every hotel should provide.
The rooms were also very old and clearly in need of updating. Everything felt worn out and not well maintained, which took away from the whole experience.
Overall, I would not recommend this place and I would never come back.

Customer service was poor, ask for a room upgrade and the receptionist looked at me as if i’d ask her to pay for it herself. the room itself, walls looked as if a 5 year old had just had a field day with crayons and black markers. the bed, well lets just say i’ve laid on comfier bricks. the shower pressure was pretty poor, the tap for the sink had more pressure been as well wash myself with the sink taps.
I would stay here again if they paid me to, but not out of my own pocket i wouldn’t.

It was OK for an overnight stay. No major complaints.
One corridor was flooded with rain getting in. Bins were set out (to catch the drips?). The sign on the building was falling to bits. It just felt old and grotty.

The location was good
Our stay was marred by issues from the start...
When booking we were told the leisure facilities were not upto scratch with there no mention of the pool being cold and hardly usable. When in our room the hot water stopped working and we had none from the minute we got into the room... i reported this to the night receptionist before being told a manager would come and speak to me. This never happened, I then had multiple back and forth with the night receptionist about this to being told an eng will be out to fix it, all night and next morning before I checked out no hot water!!! I mentioned this to the receptionist when checking out to be told they checked and all working??? No engineer was called up then? This blatant ignorance towards my concerns and complaints have been washed away which is absolutely ridiculous and I would recommend never going to this hotel again! This is the worst experience I have ever felt from a hotel and really feel let down by this! Booking.com only being able to offer 15% back as a goodwill due to a hotel not being able to offer basic hygiene needs of hot water is ridiculous... PLEASE AVOID

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It is so terrible. They should not be allowed to charge people money for this. There were parts of the ceiling missing in the hallway. The walls were cracking. The bed was super old and terrible.
I don’t like anything about this hotel. This pictures don’t look like what the hotel actually looks like. It’s run down and broken and dirty. The walls are black and grey instead of the nice white you see in the pictures. The room smelled like smoke.

Evening meal, breakfast and staff all great. A warm welcome at reception. Bar staff friendly and helpul
The room was as far as is possible to get from reception. Room itself looked okay on first appraisal but it was cold, even with the radiator on full. The bathroom floor had some sort of icky stuff on it in front of the toilet indicating it hadn't been mopped or cleaned thoroughly. My neighbours across the hall - I could hear virtually every word they said... until about midnight so the walls are not at all soundproof. I mean - it was okay I suppose - but for an extra tenner I could have been in a Premier Inn which would have been better.

Staff super nice, nice pub and good facilities with the swimming pool. Good animation with a singer you came in the evening to entertain. Good effort in the decoration with modern and funny pictures.
Bit old although it is clear that they are part that are renovated.

Good location, only a few minutes walk from the centre. Nice to have the pool/sauna facilities
Absolutely freezing. -6° outside and apparently the pipes froze which lead to the bedrooms being freezing. The staff were nice and supplied us with extra blankets when I asked, but still horrid breathing in cold air all night. None of our clothes dried from the walk the previous day so putting on cold wet clothes was vile. The breakfast room was draughty and the plates were cold too so breakfast went stone cold within 5 minutes of sitting down. Everyone woke up with the flu. Also the TV had zero reception.

The place is showing its age but it looks like they are slowly doing it up, I hope they keep doing it up, needs a bit of work but if and when It's done it should be great.

This little roadside hotel was fine. We just needed a place to crash. And for 70 pounds it did its job. Had access to a pool and a bar which was nice.
It was just old. The pool was fine but the hot tub was cold.

Although I was disappointed that the restaurant was closed, the food in the bar was served promptly, freshly cooked and hot.
I was upset by the total ignorance of the needs of someone with a stoma. I deemed it courteous to advise the hotel of this, but then was amazed to get a phone call telling me to report to the Belford Hospital before checking in! I sorted this, but with 1 in every 340 people having this condition I was amazed and upset at the total ignorance or my situation!
