It was very quaint. It was more of a Bed & Breakfast than what I would consider a “hotel”. But it was authentically British! Located atop an authentic British Pub added to its charm!
My room was located on the first floor above the Pub, so it was a little noisy at night.

Unexpectedly cozy, roomy and clean. Super friendly staff. A bit far from central London but in a very lovely neighborhood, if you plan accordingly you would never have to worry about the location. Lovely terrace made the days begin and end with even more fun.
Just for info, two storey building with narrow stairs. Might be hard to carry the luggages. I tried so hard to find this dislike, really enjoyed being there!.

Loved this Pub Inn! Great location close to several transit options. The food was great and service excellent. Also walking distance from High Street with many lovely shops and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again!

Room was modernised, it had an ac and a nice bathroom. The location was excellent in regards to why I was there. Staff was great!
The doors in the rooms don't hold noise from the corridor very well. Not many rooms so not a big issue.

There was not much not to like - it’s a lovely old pub. The decor in the rooms could’ve been a bit lighter and some of the carpets were a bit dirty but otherwise it was fantastic.

Tasteful restored rooms above an traditional English pub, no problems with sound, excellent location, bus stop in front takes you easily and cheap to the center of London

Very Good
Second time we stayed at the Stoke-Newington Rose & Crown and we are enjoying it even more. It has all the charm of a neighborhood Pub/Inn, with an excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Open fireplaces, great drinks (an infamous Bloody Mary) and food, including a delicious, traditional Sunday Roast! Rooms are spacious with modernized bathrooms. Location is highly practical with multiple bus lines right outside the door that quickly gets one to London Central, the Tube or the Overground.
If one needs a luxury stay, this will not meet your expectations. It’s a classified building, walls are thin and heating is somewhat spotty in places. But it’s also part of the charm!

Everything about my stay at the Rose and Crown was exceptional. My room was very clean and comfortable. I ended up eating all of my meals at the pub downstairs because the food was great and the atmosphere was great as well - always lots of people there having a good time but always a spot for me to sit. I would love to go back someday.

It's a convenient location with very comfortable amenities. The breakfast is well presented and the staff are welcoming.
The room I had was above the pub front door on the night of the weekly pub quiz, so that was a bit noisy. They did warn me about that at least, so I was prepared.

From check in and throughout the stay, the highest level of customer service and friendliness makes staying at Rose and Crown Stoke Newington a pleasure. From the historic building, well-appointed rooms, and the ground floor pub that provides a very satisfying breakfast and then opens to the public for the enjoyable food and drink options. The roof top terrace provides a nice space to enjoy if there's sun.

Lovely meeting the staff, who obviously take pride in running the pub and hotel. The pub is a classified property, full of charm and history. The rooms are accessed behind the bar, up stairs. If you need an elevator, this isn't the place for you. Our room was spacious and right next to a rooftop terrace. We never spent time there as we had a busy schedule, but it would have been delightful! the breakfast layout started at 7:30 am and was perfect for our needs. We will stay there again if/when the opportunity arrises!
An elevator would have been nice for luggage, but we are able bodied and negotiated the stairs with ease.
