Staff really friendly and accommodated our request to check in early due to reason for our visit.
Breakfast was really good too.
Very basic facilities in the room and looked tired, took a while to work out how to switch the kettle on.
Evening meal was not the best, steak in the pie was nice but gravy very thin, veg was cold and very hard.

The staff, service and food are amazing. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. Highly recommend.
The room was clean but accommodation is dated. Plumbing desperate needs upgrading and rooms need a freshen up. The noise of another guests bathroom plumbing was very loud and not sure if it's the air in the pipes but woke us up a few times.

Breakfasts starting at 10am wasn't any good for me. I didn't know this until after I booked.

Pleasantly surprised lovely welcome and from start to finish felt the whole ambience of feeling welcomed staff were so helpful The room lighting was lovely room spacious iron kettle coffees tea milk .The bar reception warm friendly the manager James made us feel any future visits could be made for up and coming events posters with information .staff helped us enjoy the food experience so compliments to chef we left feeling well nourished background music allowed us all to chat without stress to hear conversations if like to thank the nice young man at reception going that extra mile helping us with our cases .so it's a 10 out of 10 5 stars from me .hopefully get another visit sometime

No shower screen,toilet made a lot of noise for a while after flushing ,bathroom fan was the same ,so could really use if we got up in middle of the night

Excellent stay during the coldest night of the year, as it's a very old hotel with charming features, they do really well to make your stay enjoyable. Food was outstanding and the service from Martin & Co was warming and homely. Definitely be back real soon, hopefully not during minus 4 conditions.
