Disappointing
The room was of standard size; the bed was comfortable; the bathroom was modern and so everything that you would expect in global chain of this standard. The location is amazing and you are right next to the beautiful central train station; there are plenty of good restaurants and shops around.
We had been traveling on our flights to get to Scotland for the day previous to our booking and so I did not see that there was an email sent which was just titled ‘your upcoming stay’ … and at the bottom of that email (after it said that the spa and the gym are closed) it mentioned the roads are closed in the area. This totally missed my attention and warrants an email saying IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR TRIP at least a week before somebody arrives at the hotel. Due to roadwork, it is impossible to get to the hotel. Because I’d not seen the email, we spent 90 minutes driving in circles in the middle of constant diversions and closed roads in the centre of Glasgow. Leave your car at the airport and do not try to drive around Glasgow. Secondly, we finally went to the public parking block that the hotel recommended we go to, and the hotel said that they would give us a refund for our parking when we checked out. When we checked out, they gave us a card and code for the parking and that was not accepted by the public parking machine. My husband walked all the way back to the hotel (elderly guests beware- if you have lots of luggage, this is quite a trek and the lift in the public parking block is often not working )and got another code and card for the machine; came back to the parking and the code and card was still not accepted so don’t believe the hotel when they say they will refund your parking. by this point, we were running late to leave Glasgow so we just had to absorb the cost of parking for just over 24 hours which came to £30. They DO NOT HAVE PARKING on site even though on my Booking.com I had clearly requested that I needed a hotel with parking. The hotel staff are not apologetic about any of these inconveniences to their guests. We noticed that room service trays on the corridor floor where we were staying were left out in the corridor for a whole day. Not the best experience for the start of our trip.

Exceptional
This is from Scott’s wife. I was so impressed with the welcome from the front desk staff and the fruit infused water in the lobby. Further, as I walked down the hallway towards my room, I was so excited to see the ice machine in the hallway! When we got into the room, I was so happy to see the robes and slippers! I loved seeing the sparkling and still water, too, after lots of travel. Lastly, I LOVED the continental breakfast, which was over the top delicious. From the fresh fruit to the hot eggs and sausages to the delicious cheese to the little smoothies….we were so impressed! Thank you for elevating our short time in Glasgow!

Very Good
Breakfast spread was very good and additional veggie options were available on request. Amenities provided were good and staff were friendly. Best part of the stay was the location as the hotel is very close to the Central station
There was construction/ renovation around the hotel and so was a bit of a bother sometimes

Exceptional
Location is excellent; staff are welcoming and friendly but also efficient; place is spotless; room had everything I needed, bed was great so I had a full night’s sleep; the bar was good and the event space was perfect.
Online check in/check out was useless - that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
