Good
The staff were charming, attentive and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were good although the menu was unadventurous and fairly expensive. Rooms were comfortable but our first bathroom was awkward and had a number of defects.
Overall the hotel is almost oppressively victorian with its heaily patterened wallpapers and limited lighting. It lacks a lift and getting around requires going upstairs and downstairs to access the hotel facilitius. It is not well suited to octogenarians!

Wonderful
Room was fantastic
our room was next to reception, all night the receptionist was chatting to other staff, disturbing our sleep

Wonderful
We have stayed here before and the staff are always friendly and professional. The overall ambience exudes comfort and class. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood but well placed for easy travel to the city centre. Our suite was exceptionally comfortable and spotlessly clean.
We went out between 11am and 3pm and on return our room had not been made-up. Not a massive issue, but not expected in a hotel of this standard. We booked a Signature Suite and nowhere in the room description does it mention these suites are up 4 flights of stairs - with no lift. Again, not a huge issue but less than ideal if you have a slight knee injury.

Disappointing
Nice building
Location
Cold room, bathroom very cold. Outdated heating system that did not work well.
Breakfast average, fruit salad consisted of some chopped melon and pineapple.

Lovely courteous staff, fabulous bar that makes you feel as if you’re in the Gilded Age and a wonderful restaurant.

Exceptional
I loved absolutely everything - and I rarely say that about anything.
Staff/service - incredible. Knowledgable about everything on the menu, the hotel, and more. Very accommodating.
Restaurant - fabulous food, wines and whisky selections.
Room - enormous! Could not believe how fantastic and beautiful that room was.
Nothing, it was literally amazing.

Exceptional
Hotel Du Vin was a welcome and much needed haven of luxury after a disastrous stay during Storm Amy in another hotel just outside Oban, no electricity, leaking roof, only sandwiches and freezing cold - so HDV was WONDERFUL warm, attentive and kind staff, the comfiest highest beds, huge high ceilings and windows and a wonderful meal in the restaurant we shall be returning!

Very Good
The food was amazing!
There was a slight plumbing smell in our room, the property is old of course, so we overlooked it. We had a junior suite and it was huge

Fair
Breakfast was fine. Dinner was great! Aiden as excellent!
The restaurant staff provided very good service and the food was delicious!
Requested a quiet room. Paid extra for a ‘nice’ room.
Put in a room right over the bar, on the first floor by a corner where two busy streets converge. It was loud all night, either from the noise/music from the bar or the blaring music from cars at the stoplights.
Never again!
