Location
The hotel was a little shabby. My room didn't seem to have any ventilation, quite stuffy. You could not open the windows. The room also smelled like bad body odor, especially the pillows. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. However, the staff was quite good.

The location was right at the train station and in the middle of what we considered downtown. We were afraid it would be loud, not at all. We enjoyed easily walking around and the staff was super nice and pleasant to talk to. Very comfortable stay.

Location is good, breakfast is more choice than usual standard English breakfast. There is a pancake machine.
Building is an old one. There will be a smell in the room, just the smell of old. Roof of room is very high, so it might be a bit cold to me. Especially if room in the corner, you will feel nose getting cold even heater has opened for 2 hours.

Room was a good size and would have had a good view except that St George Square is all torn up and being redeveloped, not a noise issue but it did affect walking around.
The room furniture and fittings were looking tired and the bathroom was not good. Toilet did not flush well. The shower was good.

Front desk staff were rarely available and when they were they were not helpful. They also charged me for 2 rooms when I only used one

Location was primary for us. We were arriving in the afternoon by train, the touring Hampden Park and the Scottish National Football Museum, then leaving very early the next morning by Airport Express bus for a 8am international flight. The location by both train stations and the bus station was ideal. I feel the price was right for the age of the facility. I was definitely in worse spaces, paying more, on this trip - this one was priced accurately. View was nice, and will be even better once George Square is complete.

Excellent location in the heart of the Merchant city, with a great choice of restaurants and bars. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful.

Old world, could use a little upgrade but there's something Charming about it. Elevators are a little squeaky. Right next to the train station very convenient. I would stay there again

Excellent location right next door to Glasgow Queen Street Station in easy walking distance from Buchanan Street. It is an older hotel, but still comfortable. We were glad to find an osculating fan in the wardrobe as the room was warm and the windows did not open.
