The room was a good size and clean. Most of the staff were helpful. One or 2 didnt seem bothered to help. The location is good and the reason the hotel was chosen. The hotel overall is a bit tired and having stayed in it a few years back there is a massive difference and if not for work I wouldn't have been happy.
Too much noise. The hotel seemed unoccupied. Tired decor. There was no hot food out for breakfast although the waitress did say that they could get it for me due to low occupancy. No room service and very little atmosphere at Christmas time.
Due to the works at George Square it was really noisy and the glazing needs upgraded. Things which may well be in the pipeline.

Next door to Queen Street Station - very central. Welcoming staff. Large, well appointed, warm room. Very comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom.
Slightly faded furniture and decor, but everything clean. We had a slight issue with hot water in the morning. Staff undertook to deal with it.

Lovely traditional hotel in great location right in George Square. Staff were very friendly.
The bathroom radiator was too hot and unable to turn it off or down. Thought check out was 12noon (our mistake) but its 11am so watch out the housekeeper was not happy with us at 11.15 when we had not vacated the room. Managed to get ready quickly and go.

There was a guest complaining and no one stop at first his complaint was no cocktails after 10 pm no sign advising that

Barman did
not speak realy at all not sure if Scottish accent was a problem for him ?
You really missed opportunity this time of year lost lots of money
So would not choose to have a drink in hotel bar

It was perfectly located for us, right next to the train station. Everything we needed was catered for and the staff were amazing.
We felt so welcome!
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jojo who made us feel so welcome. My friend is visually impaired and I was guiding - Jojo treated him with such dignity and respect talking directly to him as well as to me. This was just wonderful and egalitarian something that isn’t always experienced. I would like to commend Jojo for her impeccable manner and say a huge thank you to her.
Jojo explained everything we needed to know. She was attentive and kind. We felt like royalty.
We had the most amazing breakfast, after a comfortable and luxurious sleep in the most beautiful room . We both have said that we want to come back again and we were sad to leave.
Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Location is good, breakfast is more choice than usual standard English breakfast. There is a pancake machine.
Building is an old one. There will be a smell in the room, just the smell of old. Roof of room is very high, so it might be a bit cold to me. Especially if room in the corner, you will feel nose getting cold even heater has opened for 2 hours.
