AMAZING! Place is beautifully situated in the hills, it’s surrounded by trees and just amazing scenery. The interior is decorated fantastically-in a way that is luxurious but also made us feel comfortable (like it wasn’t stuffy or stuck up). Staff were all amazingly friendly, the food was superb! The bar drinks were great also! Really took us back in time.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious; the grounds were beautiful. Our room was also comfortable and decorated nicely. The hotel is beautiful!

Very Poor
i liked the spa and the property decor.
We had a bit of a nasty experience with the staff. We booked for 1 night initially. before dinner we went to the counter and asked if we could book a second night as we were enjoying the area. at the time the staff told me that i would need to check out in the morning and i could book another night in another room. simple room change was needed but they told me it would not be an issue to book a second night. the next morning i went to check out and book the second night and they proceeded to tell me that they were fully booked. this put an absolute damper on our plans for the day and we were forced to leave and find other accommodations. for a resort that claims this prestige, lying to customers is a veery bad look. we would not recommend this Place to our business partners or friends or family.

Very Good
The hotel is gorgeous with an old world glamour - it would make a good wedding venue. There were serious renovations going on but it didn't especially affect us however I think once they are complete the hotel will want to put it's prices up. The spa and gym will be fabulous. The staff were excellent and very friendly - properly trained and well managed. Great beds. Quiet and restful.
Access from the hotel to the spa isn't great especially if you have a robe / swimming things on. The restaurant food wasn't the best - it had the potential to be amazing but some of the dishes underwhelmed however the breakfast was fab - loose leaf tea, kippers, porridge / fresh fruit - everything I wanted basically!

Spa and nice big room. When we arrived the man at reception that took our cases was so kind, he even noticed we had proseco in our bag so got a bucket, ice and some glasses for us without us having to ask, it was such a nice gesture. Reception staff were lovely also.
Staff in the hall were very rude, they were serving all the older guests and walking past me and my friend. Not sure if this is just because we are young girls (21 years old) but we are paying the same as most people to stay in the hotel we expect the same treatment. We had to ask to me served, ask for more drinks, ask to be seated for breakfast in the morning and ask again to be served drinks at breakfast.

Lovely hotel, with renovations in progress. Spa and leisure facilities are great. The hotel is very accessible for anyone with mobility issues and dog friendly.

We stayed at Mar Hall last night (02/01/25). It was a last minute booking. We are a family of three. We had a lovely stay and used the pool.
We had a young lady named Tabby who came to our room and made my daughter's bed, she also got some things that i requested. In the morning we arrived for breakfast. During breakfast my 4 year old asked me for water. There was no water available at the breakfast buffet so I asked the young man named Mikey (Michael), if i could get a glass of water. He replied yes, but proceeded to continue cleaning the tables and setting the table. I asked him again 15 minutes later as my 4 year old really wanted water. Mikey snapped at me and said he will get it, I did not respond to his disgusting attitude, I just nodded and said ok. After a further 10 minutes, the glass of water arrived. I thanked Mikey and my husband explained to Mikey that water was not available at the breakfast buffet. He had a Vile attitude towards us throughout breakfast. We payed a lot of money for our stay, everything and everyone was pleasant except for the young man at breakfast on 03/01/25.
There was a young lady along with Mikey, called Jess (Jessica), she was very attentive and we asked her for any requests we had after that.
Unfortunately we will not be back and will not recommend this hotel to our family and friends. This incident is unfortunate because we were excited to go back after the refurbishment for future stay.
It only takes one person to put the whole team and hotel down.
I hope this young man does not treat any other guests like this and also fixes his attitude at this young age or he will not get very far in life.
