It is a cool building and the beds were very comfortable.
The easily visible elevator broke and no one made sure guests clearly knew that there was another evevator down the hall. Also, when we checked in, there was a systems/internet issue so the staff refused to allow us in our rooms (although they were ready) until they could scan our credit cards. That lead to a time period where we just had to sit around and wait for what turned out to be some hours. No manager addressed us to apologize or make other arrangements. I felt like the front desk staff were left hanging with a customer service issue they had no control over. Because of there not being any outlets in the bathroom, there should be a mirror by the outlets in the main room.

The staff are always so friendly here and really make you feel welcome.
Only that I didn't know it was under construction so drove around 6 times as I couldn't find it.

Disappointing
The ground floor room itself was fine, the "view" from the only window however was of discarded beer barrels and not much more. Kept the curtains closed to avoid looking out the window and being disappointed.
Staff at check in could not have been more uninvolved in the process if they tried. Very squeaky floors in the halls and our room, wouldn't take much to remedy. Service in the mostly deserted bar was very slow.

Wonderful
Really friendly atmosphere from the time we entered till the time we checked out!
Enjoyed both the bar and the restaurant. Staff at the reception were particularly helpful.
With all the scaffolding it was a little difficult to locate the hotel in the dark but that’s not a criticism!

The Staff were amazing, every one of them that dealt with us. We were given a free drink because we arrived early and the room was not ready. We were also given another free drink because we chose Eco room service. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, and staff can't do enough for you. I requested an upgrade which was lovely. Andrew on the Main Desk was a joy. You should be very proud of how your staff conduct themselves. I would definitely return. I love the place.

Usual very comfy beds and bedding as I have always enjoyed at Malmaison.
Location was convenient for our stay. Hot breakfast and pastries were excellent!
Room allocated wasn’t great on the ground floor but when I asked we were moved up an upper level (next to the lift). I had incorrectly booked a double rather than a twin room, unfortunately a twin room was not available.
The sliced fruit at breakfast tasted off/past its best!

It was a lovely property, in a fairly quiet. But central area.
Staff were lovely!! The room and facilities were very good.
Breakfast was very nice!! And the waiting staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive .
I really liked this hotel.
