Good
Room was very comfortable and roomy. Nice little sitting area with a love seat. Good bathroom.
Unfortunately, our arrival was a bit chaotic and that put everything off. We booked here because booking.com said they had on-site parking. They don't, which they warned me about in their confirmation letter. But they did offer us bag drop off at check-in, and then instructions on where to park off-site. Problem is, there isn't a loading zone at the hotel. It's illegal to park in front, so either you find street parking, pay for it and unload from a few blocks away, or park illegally and scramble to unload your bags.
Then, the instructions to pay in advance for a car park 6 blocks away were confusing, and the front desk clerk was a "soft talker" so getting settled with our car was unsettling, and those first 10 minutes sadly set the tone for our first day in Glasgow. And for that reason, we gave a low "location" rating.
ADDITION: The hotel recommended we "pre-book" our parking, which we did for 2:00pm. But we arrived 12 minutes early. So even though we stayed in the garage for less than 24 hours, the garage billed us an additional GBP 3.00 for arriving outside our booked time. Not the hotel's fault, but they should warn patrons of this before encouraging that we pre-book.

Disappointing
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our room location was terrible. It was on the ground floor behind the front desk and next door to the room was an office in rented by a non-related business. We could hear banging and bumping until they left at close of business. The quality of our rooms have been poor several times when booking through Booking.com. I'm beginning to wonder if it is because we are booking through Booking.com.

Good
It is a cool building and the beds were very comfortable.
The easily visible elevator broke and no one made sure guests clearly knew that there was another evevator down the hall. Also, when we checked in, there was a systems/internet issue so the staff refused to allow us in our rooms (although they were ready) until they could scan our credit cards. That lead to a time period where we just had to sit around and wait for what turned out to be some hours. No manager addressed us to apologize or make other arrangements. I felt like the front desk staff were left hanging with a customer service issue they had no control over. Because of there not being any outlets in the bathroom, there should be a mirror by the outlets in the main room.

Wonderful
Lovely clean and welcoming hotel
The fact it had a bowed curtain rail let so much light in the room from outside which is something I really hate

Very Good
Room was beautiful with large bed.
Carpet a little dated and bathroom could do with updating a little. Overall very comfortable and pleasant stay
It felt quite dim and dark - difficult to find a spot throughout the hotel with good lighting

Wonderful
The Malmaison was a lovely, comfortable hotel with all the amenities and was close to a number of restaurants.
It was a bit further from the train station than I'd calculated.

Very Poor
Clean .
The staff in charge of transporting the luggage are excellent, friendly and very helpful, but the reception staff are catastrophically negligent. I booked three rooms and paid for them three days before check-in, but they gave me two rooms and upon departure they deducted the price of one night from the third room with a promise of a free night (which is ridiculous and an evasion of responsibility in an attempt to place the blame on me) despite not giving me the key or registering me in it. A very bad experience due to the unprofessionalism of the reception staff and also the hotel manager who dealt with the matter extremely badly. An experience I will never repeat in this miserable hotel.
