The girl in the bar was lovely and very helpful, the girl at the reception at night when we arrived was nice.
The water pressure in the room was abysmal, both in shower & bathroom sink! Ladies loo in bar area was pretty disgusting & smelled bad. Bed was clean and comfy though.

Bed is comfy and the staff friendly. location is good. Good selection of tea and coffee in room.
Needs a full refurb now was amazing 10 years ago but rooms are tired now.

Nice location, decorated well for Christmas. Bed was comfy and room was tidy, staff were friendly. Location is ideal for travelling around the city and near stations.
The room backed onto an alleyway which backed onto the back of building in which bins were emptied very loudly and early in the morning.

Good location, great shower. Well equipped room. Room service was good but expensive.
Bathroom needs a proper clean. Lazy cleaning. Room was cold - couldn’t get the heating to work.

Very Poor
There was nothing good about my stay
1. The car park suggested by the hotel is not open 24h. This is not mentioned anywhere and the hotel receptionist was also unaware. I arrived at the car park at 10pm in torrential rain and could not enter the car park as the shutters were closed. In a panic I had to find another car park. THERE ARE NO CAR PARKS CLOSE TO THIS HOTEL! This hotel advertises that it has a car park but it DOES NOT! I then had to walk over 10 minutes in the pouring rain and in the dark to get to the hotel. But it all went downhill from there…
2. My room was a double but it was incredibly small. I was overwhelmed by a very strong smell of men’s aftershave when opening the door to my room which resulted in me having to open the window to clear the air. It was the end of November…it didn’t take long for the room to become freezing!
3. The bed…oh dear…clearly a very old, poor quality mattress as there was a large dip where previous guests had slept. Very uncomfortable indeed, not a restful night.
4. The windows were very thin / didn’t close properly and a leaky gutter outside made a constant dripping sound all night….I could hear it through earplugs.
5. The shower…a dirty looking shower head and the railings in the bath / shower were in the perfect place to bang your elbows off of.
I left the next day having had barely any sleep, wet shoes & clothes from the trek to & from the car park and a bruised elbow.

The bar area was nice and had a good atmosphere.
The room was very cold - heating had been turned off and I would have expected a bit more preparation for arriving on a very cold day!
Very dark decor and lighting - even when having breakfast it was difficult to read the menu due to poor lighting.

Ideal location the staff were great and some fabulous recommendations on where to go.
The bathroom sink was cracked and around the taps were dirty. Some of the wallpaper had been ripped off which made the room look tired
