The room was a decent size but was not set up for two people to sit comfortably at the same time. The breakfast was good; the menu had good choices.
The room was not well sound proofed; we could hear TVs either side of us and people walking to rooms along the same corridor. We were disappointed with the bar and restaurant areas; we found them gloomy.

The first room they put me in a “suite” was really tired and dirty. They did move me which was great but again wasn’t very clean.

The staff were lovely.
This hotel was just not it unfortunately. There was no thermostat in the room, the windows never opened fully, there was 1 mirror in the entire room and that was in the bathroom, the pillows were awful and the hotel was miles away from anything. The bath also had mould all around the seal. We have stayed at Malmaison’s elsewhere in Scotland and they are fab, unfortunately this one let us down.
