Good
Location was excellent.
Restaurant was excellent too. Food was delicious and service very good.
The ambient lighting made it tricky for us oldies to see the menu for breakfast!
The bedroom was very dark and bathroom was dated and the temperature control on the shower kept falling off. However the management dealt with complaints very well and thanked us for drawing attention to the problem.

Disappointing
Have always enjoyed staying at a Malmaison...usually a lovely experience.
Club room good size.
Good quality bed.
Non-slip shower.
Breakfast very good and hot food served quickly (though it was extremely quiet on that Saturday)
Planned to dine in that evening and as its menu was online I'd already decided what to order. On arrival, Reception advised there were no dining options due to essential maintenance in the kitchen. Felt totally ambushed as there was nothing on their website, confirmation email or any pre-notification of this. Was cheerfully advised to get a Deliveroo instead! As I have mobility issues, I had no choice but to do this. It was a truly dismal feeling when I later crossed Reception to get my 'meal' from the Deliveroo driver..4* hotel price; Airbnb experience. I asked Reception for a plate and cutlery and didn't notice I'd been given a spoon and fork instead of knife. Had I waited for the replacement, my sad meal would have been cold as well.
I'd been allocated a street-level room so noises were amplified: up until midnight from revellers, and from 5am from diesel lorries making noisy deliveries to the Sainsbury Local across the road. A truly poor night's sleep.
Club Room looked sparse and unfinished. Also, metal edging around the long worktable stood 'proud' of the table top so very uncomfortable to sit at. Fridge hadn't been plugged in ready, and it was a struggle to get past furniture to get to the wall socket. Same struggle with uplighter plug. The bathroom looked equally sad. Flipper door on shower screen had been removed leaving visible fixings, potential trip hazard. Grubby water damage ran the entire length of floor alongside shower tray. Bottom of the bathroom door was blown from water damage. Walk-in shower had a phenomenally high step up to get into it. Countertop basin was sat on large black empty wooden bench with two shelves below..would have looked more inviting had the extra towels been placed here rather than a cupboard with cheap door knobs by the entrance door.
At check-out, I took the time to politely explain all of this to Reception. Was told Manager would be in touch. Heard nothing. Poor show Malmaison!

All of the staff working over the weekend of my stay were excellent; and all of them are a credit to the Malmaison group
I will use this hotel again when I next visit Glasgow City

Bed and room facilities were excellent. Complimentary drinks in room were wonderful. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
View over air conditioning plant was not pleasant.

The staff was super friendly and The Hotel itself was very stylish
It was extremely hot in the room and the small fan. I couldn’t leave on overnight as it was quite noisy.

Fair
The food was great albeit no trout available from a fairly short menu. What we had was delicious.
It’s just so dark. The rooms need more lamps. I had to use my phone torch to see in the wardrobe.
Bits of bathroom not clean - photos taken.
