Poor
We were put in Room 116 in the 'old building' and the noise was intolerable; every door being opened, every step on the floors above and outside, every toilet flush, every shower running, every conversation can be heard through the paper-thin walls, doors and old windows that dont keep out noise. A horrendous night with no sleep.

Clean and quiet
Sink cracked Shower difficult to get to work at correct temperature. Breakfast room VERY dark- you could not read the menu. Bar at night played background music inappropriate to the age profile of the guests and it was too loud for this age group of people.

The breakfast was nice. The bed was comfortable.
The staff were friendly enough but seemed to be agitated with each other and generally unhappy. The room itself was clean but small and dark. It had windows that looked into the bar so I suppose you could call it an ‘inside room’. This combined with the room size gave a claustrophobic feel for me. Tea and coffee facilities were poor, 2 coffee bags to do us for our stay.

Quirky hotel, super friendly staff.
Quite a long way out of the centre with a steep walk up the hill.
We stayed in room 552, a duplex room. It would make more sense to have the tea and coffee facilities downstairs where there is access to water for the kettle.
I would’ve appreciated a magnifying mirror in the bathroom as the mirror is inaccessible in the bathroom and the one in the main room has poor light to it.

Really good breakfast.
The whole property seemed to be "dark" as far as lighting goes, which is good for sleeping, but was a challenge doing everything else.

Nice enough hotel but maybe a wee bit less impressive than other Mals I have stayed in
I received and email saying we got an upgrade for £20 which I was very happy about as I was sharing a bed with my best friend, so meant we had more room etc!
But when we arrived I was told that wasn’t correct and that I shouldn’t have received the email! Then that was that, the receptionist didn’t seem overly bothered just said she raise it!
