We were upgraded to Novotel next door so didn't experience Ibis. Very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Good location for exploring Glasgow

Very friendly welcoming staff on reception. Everything in the room that I could possibly need. Bathroom was small but beautifully clean. Very quiet for a city centre hotel.
The whole place would benefit from a deep clean. The carpets are dirty, especially in the corridors, which doesn't give a good first impression. It doesn't take long to remove stains from spillages, even if there isn't time to clean the whole carpet. I didn't like the matress topper as the sheet would not stay in place and became uncomfortable during the night. The reception staff need to speak slower. As is often the case, when people are repeating the same words, maybe hundreds of times a day, they tend to get faster and faster. I don't have difficulty understanding the Glaswegian accent, or any other accent in Scotland. However, Glasgow is a destination for many people whose first language is not English. If I have to ask someone to repeat several sentences then there's very little hope for a non native speaker.

The alarm went off twice in the dead night waking us all up around 2am and we all rushing down to the safe place outside under the cold weather and only for the supervisor to say that he is sorry that it was a false Alarm..
Secondly the Lift packed up and was faulty that we had to go up and down thru the staircase with Luggages etc

Price. Location. Bathroom. Compact design but well laid out and felt spacious enough for two people.
Single beds in twin room were very narrow which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.
