The room was smaller than I'd expected but nevertheless was very comfortable and well appointed.
The breakfast staff were absolutely excellent, as both my husband and myself have poor mobility and with it being a buffet breakfast the staff were very helpful to both of us. Big thumbs up for them :)
The onsite restaurant served up very good food. Which was most enjoyable.
Overall a very enjoyable stay but more of a 3 Star Hotel in my opinion.
The windows were very drafty, even with heavy curtains let in cold air.
The radiator in the room was adjustable but still not warm enough in my opinion

The room was spacious and clean. I'd read some reviews describing the hotel as "tired" but my room didn't have any issues - the decor was up to date and everything was reasonably well-maintained. The location was excellent - really one of the best in Glasgow, right across from the Botanic Gardens and just a few minutes' walk from Hillhead underground station.
We had a room at the front of the hotel, which gave us a nice view, but the big windows made the heating really inadequate. It was far too cold until we asked for a space heater, which the hotel did provide. About half the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the other half were cold and dismissive. I felt really reluctant to ask for anything when certain people were working, and felt like I needed to begin the conversation with "Sorry to bother you, but..." After our stay at the Grosvenor we stayed at similarly-priced hotel in Lisbon, Portugal where the staff could not have been friendlier, and really bent over backwards to make you feel special as a guest. That really drew a contrast with The Grosvenor.

Good location. Stayed here a few times unfortunately this was my worse stay so far.
Toilet didn't flush, room was freezing and no bath soap or anything to wash with. It was clearly not replaced. Plumbing was very loud with banging pipes all night.
This is my 3rd stay here maybe just unlucky with my room but I would question going back again with other options available.

Nice clean room at the back of the hotel overlooking the car park, excellent breakfasts, great location, near to lots of restaurants, parks and museum. We managed to get one of the 12 parking places on the Waitrose car park and didn't move it again until we left.
Shower head would not stay up on its rail so was too low. Toilet blocked at times, room 227.

Good location
It’s an old, tired hotel that misrepresented itself in the photos - the hotel does not look like this. The largest bed is a double -no queens or kings at this hotel. Our room had a broken lamp and not many of the plugs worked. This was not worth it so we actually moved to another hotel.

The breakfast eggs are dreadful. The scrambled eggs remind me of the scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs decades ago and the fried eggs were cold and rubbery. Every morning for a week!
I recommend that the chef put out freshly hard-boiled eggs instead.

Great location and really friendly and helpful staff.
It wasn't too clear on where to park as the only signs were for the Hilton, which I understand the hotel used to be. In the car park itr really wasn't clear which spaces were allocated for guests.
Another signage issue is that the hotel really needs to put up some signs asking residents to be quiet in the corridors, the noise was too loud from 7 am, and soon after we could hear the cleaners knowinhg on other doors for Housekeeping. The sound insulation at least to our room just wasn't good enough, and after a late night out in Glasgow this was less than ideal. The room and location were otherwise ideal, but this was a big issue for us.
