The room was luxurious, comfortable bed, quality linen and very clean, the 60" tv was a nice touch (never seen one that big in a chotel).
Cons
Breakfast for a hotel baring Hilton brand I was utter disappointment, while the cold selection buffet was premium and above standard (the make your own waffle station was brill idea) but the hot selection was absolutely horrible, it seemed to me like it was reheated from previous day in a microwave, I was at breakfast 6am so everything should be fresh but it wasn't, bacon was so dry it felt like eating thin pieces of wood, I was picking bacon splinters lodged in my gums for hours, lorne sausage was so dried and shrivelled it was like eating an old leather shoe, eggs ware reconstituted steamed powder eggs, waterry and absolutely tasteless, from A Hilton brand I was expecting at least sunny side up friend eggs, or friend not steamed scrambled, no friend mushrooms no friend tomato and no black pudding and no haggis, hot breakfast selection was an absolute disgrace, you should be ashamed serving people that garbage. When I complained at reception I was totally ignored and told that everything was cooked fresh, like I'm an idiot and don't know the difference.

Ruaridh on reception was fantastic, very accommodating and friendly.

Breakfast was good, a lot to chose from. When we arrived earlier than anticipated the front desk officer offered us to enroll in the "club" which was a quick sign-up. By signing up we got to check in early, got a voucher for 2 drinks at the bar and 10% off all purchases from the lobby/bar. Really nice gesture to offer us all that, but just to be fair, I've been offered numerous times early check-in if the room is available, during my travels.
Fair prices at the bar and the pool table looked nice.

The front desk rejected one of the small parcels that we had sent to the hotel from Amazon. In the hotels defence, the name of the recipient wasn't the same as the one registered for the room but there were clear instructions on the front of the parcel and the name of the one registered for the room. Who sends a packet to a hotel, if they are not expecting it there? Anyways, for the first time we 1) didn't contact the hotel in advance to ask if it was ok to have items sent to the hotel and 2) didn't have the person registered for the room as the recipient. You might want to contact this hotel in advance, to be on the safe side.
All the staff was a bit weird towards us after it was realised that a parcel had been rejected the day before our arrival. We weren't mad, they weren't rude... things were just a bit weird.
The bed was both kinda stiff and springy and it made a lot of noise, even the smallest movement during the night became a commotion.
