Very Good
The hotel has a beautiful, grand exterior and freshly refurbished interior. The staff were lovely and helped with any issues I had. The spa was incredible, potentially the best spa experience I have ever had so didn't begrudge paying £25 for the privilege. The room was cosy too and they had shampoo AND conditioner in the bathroom!
Would have preferred a kettle rather than the coffee machine as the coffee machine kept breaking however it was substituted with coffee from the cafe and a kettle was provided on request). A few corners of the room needed a wee lick of paint and the furniture paint was peeling a bit at the edges.

Wonderful
Loved the friendly staff and food at Vista restaurant was exceptional. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxed stay. Location was great, very secluded but close to good transport links.
Our room was situated down a corridor which was having some painting and decorating done. This wasn't an issue (as we understand properties need maintaining, and the decorators were really lovely) but they were surprised we hadn't been moved. The only other thing was that it would have been nice to have a privacy curtain as well as the blackout curtains as there was a path running past the window.

Wonderful
Spa facilities, helpfulness of waiting staff, spa facilities were out of this world (make sure to book in advance) and junior suite with view of the Clyde was to die for
The rudeness of the day time reception spa staff when I had misunderstood when we can book the spa

Fair
Room was a decent size. Spa facilities fantastic.
Overall, for the price, this hotel isn’t really delivering on what it could and what it sells. The “premier residence room” while a great size with nice toiletries and lovely and quiet, is showing wear and tear and could benefit from a deep clean (eg broken grouting in tiles, grubby carpet and threadbare bed throw). So too the furniture in the lounge area of nineteen - stained and grubby! The “view of the grounds” from the room was of the entrance and car park. The “preferential spa and golf bookings” non existent in reality because guests can only use the spa between 5-10pm on day off arrival or 7-9am (!) on day of check out for payment of £25. The public areas of this hotel were literally freezing. Had arrived early hoping to spend a nice couple of hours enjoying the lounge and bar reading a book - it was like being in an ice box. The restaurant food was good and the bar very cocktails nice (of course hotel prices, even rivalling central Glasgow, at £13-£14 a pop). Spa facilities were fantastic - best I’d say in the Glasgow area. Really special. However, need a few more staff on to help with tidiness as water and drink bottles, towels and robes dumped all over the place (maybe some hooks for folks to hang or ask them to leave in locked if not needed). On arrival a half glass of beer in the ladies changing room was not quite the luxury vibe I’m sure they are going for! The ground were nice for a walk, but it would help guests to let them know maybe some trails to take. Due to heavy rain thankfully the golf course was empty so I could walk anywhere but in a day of golf I’d imagine one would need some direction of how to enjoy these grounds on foot and safely away from the golf. These might seem like minor niggles or petty things to raise, but for what is being charged (over £200 a night in residence premier) they really need addressing, as without this hotel isn’t def not hitting the so called “4 star” mark.

Disappointing
The spa facilities were great.
Room felt unclean, and extremely old fashioned - in need of a major revamp.
