Good
The spa was superb. Really excellent.
It was clean, well managed and staff available to help when required.
The hotel and restaurant stuff were also very helpful and attentive.
The grounds were well maintained.
We upgraded our room to an executive King room but when we arrived the room had a number of carpet stains. The room itself self was clean however the stains made us feel a little uneasy. We could over look one maybe but there were a number. It was the same story when we moved rooms however the second room was far better.

The spa was amazing, far exceeded my hopes. The setting is amazing and the view from the spa balcony is incredible. Our room overlooked the golf course and was stunning.
It was a bit of a shock that the wifi doesn't work in many areas of the hotel. It was non-existent in our bedroom.

Pleasant
Spacious and clean rooms. Plenty of parking space.
Very poor Wifi. Indeed no Wifi in the rooms we stayed. We rang the reception, we were given an alternative Wifi option. That too did not work. We were simply told that it was because of the location of the rooms!
I had stayed here last June 2025 too. Same issues. I thought in this day and age WiFi is pretty much mandatory and essential. The fact that the issue has persisted for more than a year means the hotel is not willing to address this issue despite being made aware of it. A pity, the hotel is well located, is clean and spacious. Breakfast is frightfully expensive, so we avoided it.

Very Good
The hotel staff were all fantastic.
Lunchtime service was quite slow therefore had to get lunch boxes up for take away as needed to be downstairs for a treatment.
Booking of the spa day online initially was not satisfactory to really enjoy the day when getting treatments, lunch etc considering my experience

Very Good
Beautiful room, very comfortable bed with a hot powerful shower. Great coffee machine, robes & slippers in the room and nicely decorated.
Staff friendly and approachable. Dinner was really good and the dram bar was nice and cosy for a drink after dinner.
The spa was excellent with lots of facilities. Bookings didn't communicate with the hotel so our spa booking was missed however the ladies at the spa reception sorted it out and let us use it without paying. The bar in the spa was excellent and a real treat to take a cocktail out to the outdoor Jacuzzi.
The jacuzzi in the spa had lots of loose tiles which I wouldn't have expected since it's newly renovated.
Breakfast service was a little slow, they missed out part of my breakfast, said they would bring it but never did.
No fridge in the room.
The hotel is a maze with lots of corridors and lots of stairs.

Poor
The food and cocktails were nice.
The service was slow and poor staff need trained. The windows had mould. A very under whelming stay. Waited over 16 minutes to receive our drinks my partner managed to get served at the bar and bring the same drinks back quicker

Fair
Food was exceptional. Scenery was stunning.
No way is the hotel a 4 star hotel and the price was too expensive. No valet so you had to walk up 2 flights of stairs with your heavy luggage. It was like a maze to get to the breakfast room. No lifts. Everything was an extra charge.

Wonderful
The hotel is very quiet and staff (exept bartender) is very helpful. We arrived at midnight but were met warmly with full attention to our needs.
The bartender refused to serve us at the bar, even though there were still people seated in the room. We only asked for one drink before going to sleep, so it was unexpected and unfortunately diminished our initial very positive impression of the hotel and staff. The breakfast was good, though it felt slightly overpriced.

Disappointing
Location was brilliant
I did not like that in description of the hotel it did not state "adults only" swimming pool. It was disappointing to learn that after the check-in -although they have sent an email about it in the small font, hidden among other emails (e.g. cot approval etc). It is not a family friendly hotel although they stated otherwise on the website. There is nothing to do there with the children unless your children play golf. Room was dirty, with other people's hair and shavings in the bathroom. The room was also very hot and humid, making entire stay unpleasant overall.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was lovely.
Unit was adjacent to a parking lot, which had a lot of activity (music and loud talking) during late evening hours.

View
Food. Chunky chips were not good. Very flowery. Not what I expected for the prices. Restaurant seem to be trying very hard to be exceptional. However, the plates are over sauced/creamed which overshadows the basic quality of the ingredients. Black pudding with chicken breasts destroys the taste of the chicken. The bacon wrap on the chicken was not effective and overpowered by the black pudding. But that's only my palate others will be different.

Exceptional
The gorgeous historic building, the friendly staff who went above and beyond (Natalie), the restaurant dinner had an incredible view and delicious food, but our favorite the absolutely lovely room and the tranquil setting was the perfect first stop on our Scotland trip. We landed in Edinburgh, walked and shopped the Royal Mile, toured the castle and then hit the road to get out of the city. We were exhausted when we arrived, but are so much more refreshed after our night at the Gleddoch.
I only wish we were staying longer!
