Glasgow Youth Hostel offers 4-star VisitScotland accredited accommodations in a Victorian townhouse overlooking Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow’s lively West End, close to award-winning Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. The hostel offer guests a great range of comfortable rooms with attached bathroom and spacious shared accommodations with private lockers. There’s also a self-contained apartment sleeping up to 6 people. WiFi is free for all guests and other facilities include a large lounge with views over the park, television room, games room, laundry, secure bike store and luggage storage. Reception is open 24 hours a day. There are no car parking spaces at the hostel, but limited on-street Pay & Display spaces can be found in the surrounding area. The location is superb as it’s close to the university and the west end. Both are walking distance. The property is large and spacious with lots of living and common rooms which are frequently used, and a self-service kitchen is available. Finally, the staff are helpful, proactive and ready to help and provide instant solutions eg I needed a quiet place to take work calls and was able to use the conference room.
One could say that the decor/condition is dated - but it’s a youth hostel, and as expected as far as I am concerned.

It’s a big villa, Victorian style, beautiful large common areas with bay windows overlooking Kelvingrove park. West end is a prestigious neighborhood! Very quiet, great for walking! The staff was always very welcoming and helpful. Tried their best to make my stay comfortable!!
It’s not as convenient of a location in regards of bus stops. I was in a 6 bed fem dorm, it was cold the first night. Did not like that the sinks were in the room . Also one shower and one toilet . Giving little privacy.

Loved the location, TV room with ping pong table & games room with musical instruments. Staff were lovely. First time in a hostel with my daughter who's 6 (private ensuite room) and she loved it. Good location for the OVO hydro.
You could see some areas needing some work like few marks or knocks on walls but its a hostel at the end of the day, and had a lot of character generally.

The location was beautiful and quiet, the building itself felt really comfortable and "goth" I loved the huge amount of facilities available especially the drying room which dried my soaked cloak in less than an hour. The room was a private room and it was comfortable. The staff were very kind and looked after me.
The water wasn't free at the reception, I believe bottled water should be free as there was no drinking water but other than that there was no issues for me.

The location was incredible. Didn't realize that part of Glasgow was so amazing. And the staff were all absolutely wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable, and just very kind people.
One thing for general maintenance, many of sinks didn't fully shut. Water was constantly dripping. As a conservation biologist, this is a simple repair with a packet of washers from a local hardware store and a wrench. So I hope they'll fix this problem (and in the long run it'll save the corporation money).

Great location, the staff were really friendly and helpful. It is dog friendly with a great park just across the road
