The staff were wonderful.
if you consider staying here, just know that there are lots of flights of stairs, especially if you’re on the top floor. There was also only one outlet in our six person dorm room.

Location is lovely. The view from the entrance to the building is beautiful, and it is a minute or two walk into the lovely park. I had a spacious single room, with a comfortable bed. Shower was fine too and pegs on the wall with coat hangers for hanging clothes!
There was a coffee making area in reception and there are milk sachets. In the dining area there is a fridge that has a communal shelf with milk, and one can label one’s food and put it on an open locker.
There are good lamps in the bedroom so one can read.
View from the single room window. It opened onto some pipes and a bit of roof so rather uninspiring. (Advantage that no-one could see in!) I would have liked a desk as there was plenty of room for one, but I don’t expect many people would use one.

The room was good for a one-night stay; it provided the basic stuff needed to recharge. The bathroom was fine. The people at the reception were very nice and provided all the necessary details. I enjoyed the location as well. Overall, it was worth it.
The biggest problem was the beds overall, which were not so comfortable. The room was also a little dusty; my nose was immediately upset, but it was nothing major. The alarm also went off in the middle of the night and stopped, so I never understood why.

Great YHA hostel with character, old 19th century mansion, overlooking a beutiful park, a bit of walk from the city, about 20 minutes. Nice big self catering kitchen (recently renovated). Staff were great, really helpful about advice about Glasgow.
Since it is three stories and there is no lift, can be a bit laborous at times climbing the stairs.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. When we needed to drop by our luggage prior to check in they made it easy. I had help using the laundry, the kitchen was clean and orderly, our room was comfortable. The location was excellent near the university, restaurants and an easy bus or two from city sights.
The room was hot, but we cracked open the window and slightly cracked the door for cross ventilation.
Also our key card stopped working after one day but was promptly reset by the front desk.

Unique hostel next to huge ramblimg park . an old 19th century mansion with tremendous character. Clean ,lot of space, big guest dorm rooms, many public rooms, laundry, self service kitchen, dining room.etc. The staff were execellant. In a quite neighbourhood.
There is a real shortage of power points, and no lift, so if you've assigned the 3rd floor, it's a climb. It is also a bit of a hike from the city and glasgow central train station, 30 minute walk.

Standard Hostel International.
Ensuite bathroom and shower.
Bed was too small and ceiling low even for someone of average height.
Hostel is at the top of a VERY steep hill. Location is horrible.
Stairs, so many stairs. They put me on the top floor and I had to climb and bring my suitcase up ALL the stairs. The receptionist said they plan to fix the elevator, which will be a big improvement

A fantastic hostel! Everything was great. Located in an old terraced building above Kelvingrove Park with great views over the city. The area iis quiet and safe, but just a few minutes walk from the Glasgow west end. We stayed in a 4 bed private room with ensuite and there was loads of room. There is a separate toilet and shower which is great for people sharing. The common rooms are lovely and there is a fully equipped kitchen.
The only thing that I could think of is that in winter the old room with high ceilings might be cold as there was only one small heater.

The hostel is spacious and comfortable. Many living rooms were relaxing and the kitchen was always clean, and big.
The location. It's really far from the markets, bars, restaurants and center city. The bed had no light or even a curtain to provide more privacy.

It was a place to sleep, it had laundry, the bedrooms weren't filthy
Bathroom smelled like sewage and there was only 1 outlet in the room for 6 people/nowhere to charge your phone. Laundry services only allowed between 7 and 10 so the machines are always taken

The amount of stairs we had to carry our luggage up.. I would think that when they know that there could be up to 4 persons in one room that there could be a lot of luggage that someone would offer to carry it.

The building was gorgeous and staff very friendly and helpful. The location is in a quiet area near a beautiful park and some good restaurants and pubs nearby.
My stay overlapped with a large group of children, perhaps 10 -12 year olds, that were running around the building, up and down the stairs until 11 pm at night, and again at 6 in the morning, which could be heard throughout the hostel. There appeared to be no chaperone looking after these children and the staff did not intervene. It was very noisy!
Some clear instructions how to get from the Central Train Station in Glasgow to the hostel by public transport would have been helpful.
Not enough plugins and wifi was patchy.
