The staff were excellent. They were kind and helpful.
The hotel has passed its ‘best by’ day and needs reinvestment. The corridors are tatty and tired. The shower in room 202 would only run hot when the cold bath tap also was running. The shower experience might have been good in 1975 but it disappoints in 2026. The radiator was installed in 1970 and could not be controlled the gap under the fire door was excessive and fails to protect the room from spread of fire the safe did not work. The lift call button to go down does not work. Press up to go down! Showers in the bath need to have grab handles. (Slip risks). Curtains coming off their tracks. Carpet by door is rucked

The hotel is conveniently located and easy to get to. It was clean.
The shower temperatures are erratic - sometimes cold, sometimes really hot.
Nobody empties the bins if you stay for more than one day.
Prices have gone up recently so value for money has gone down.

It's a great hotel and quick and cheap to get into Glasgow centre if you are happy with a short walk to the train station. The bus takes forever.
We missed breakfast as we got our times mixed up. As we had paid for it I asked if one could be transferred to the following day as our daughter was coming over. The grumpy bald man behind reception said no and stated it wasn't his fault we missed breakfast. Thought that was poor customer service and just generally mean spirited. Thankfully the lady who my wife asked later that day gave us a complimentary breakfast without hesitation so my poor score and negative feedback only relates to one member of staff. He should take some tips off his colleagues.

Stayed twice within the space of 2 weeks - room poor with problems both times. Mixed staff, couple really helpful and other poor and rude.
Stay 1 - card key repeatedly stops working. Battery’s in door card readers loose. Cold shower.
Stay 2 - booked a triple room for 3 adults. Got given a double room with a camp bed as they’d run out of triples. Didn’t put a 3rd towel or water glass in the room either. Night porter rude when asked for anything.

The bed was very comfortable and rooms spacious. Nice bar and room service was good.
The lift to get down four flights was not working. I took the stairs. The walls are thin, I could hear the couple staying in the next door room to me in muffled tones. Would have been annoying if I was trying to sleep at the time.
