Location to my business that weekend.
Receptionist, SONAM, was very helpful and friendly throughout my stay.
A lot of noise when ‘tourists’ arrived from the airport.
I found the TV not that ‘User Friendly’.
Shower lacked pressure and was lukewarm warm at 07:00 on Sunday(15th Feb.) morning, despite turning the temp to maximum.

after checking in we decided not to stay
right away the first item to greet us was an abandoned black BMW in nearest car parking space to the hotel ,which looks like has been there for years ????
and not impressed that it looked like an indian weeding venue inside and an asylum hotel from outside ????
Executive room ,don't know what made it Executive Standard all the furniture very tired and missing paint chips on on legs of furniture .
bathroom COULD BE BETTER decor hygiene etc
windows screwed shut with ruff edged protruding screws to fasten the window to the frame
no food or drink available in the afternoon as i was told the bar or restaurant wasnt open till 5pm .
didn't know i had to bring my own food or refreshments till the hotel facilities were open.

Wonderful
Hotel undergoing renovation so some noise during the day and quite rough outside, but service was quick, location on the river is very pleasant and our room was very nice (massive bed, marbled floor, big tv), clean, comfortable, excellently serviced even just on a two night stay.
Works ongoing and location only really suitable for those in a car.

Evening buffet dinner was excellent. Breakfast was really good. Excellent sized rooms and beds. great views.
Dinner and breakfast hot food trays could have been warmer, although the food itself was excellent.
The outside of the hotel is not so inviting as the brochure picture. The hotel is under going some refurbishment.

On my arrival, the site security guard was very friendly and kindly informed my companions and I, very politely, that the place had been closed for months in order to house immigrants. He also suggested some other hotels nearby.
Up until the day before, I was still not aware of the hotel's closure, their last email being to say the hotel was looking forward to welcoming me the next day!

The walk on the river was nice. Room and breakfast were ok. Parking was good.
The fact that both lifts hadn't been working for 2 weeks and they did not tell us about that at the point of booking or before the visit, and the goods lift was behind the scenes and a horrible long convoluted disgusting walk to get to it.
Hence we had to use the fire escape stairwell all the time which was a ugly cold brick steel concrete construction, and we both had a bad back and did not help our stay. Most of the staff were young and inexperienced but helped the best they could.

my husband is in a wheelchair - lift was out of action and had to use a disgusting service lift which could only fit one person at a time - was put on 3rd floor ( top floor) a further 3 people were in our party were registered disabled also on third floor - if there was a fire we were trapped !

When I booked through 2 different partners they linked the bookings.
The price which included breakfast.
2 night stay booked with different agents. Night 1 Sat 21st hotel cancelled accommodation (due to overbooking) with 2 days notice! They expected us to travel from the Highlands to stay on evening2. Not customer friendly whatsoever could not negotiate or speak with management. Reservation Team advised to CANCEL all (no exceptions) even although Night 2 was cross referenced and confirmed back in April!!

It was dirty, it stunk of smoke. The lift wasn’t working and there seemed to be no evidence of anyone fixing it. So there was lots of elderly people having to use the stairs. They were clearly struggling up and down. In the stairwell it was filthy with old dirty mattresses up against the wall.
The desk in my room was covered in dust. The mattress was rock hard. The hotel was really noisy with guests coming and going at all hours of the night.
The hallway smelled of smoke and when I asked the reception they said they would send house keeping to check.
The breakfast was terrible quality. All cheap meats that tasted like frying oil.

Disappointing
Handy one night stop when travelling through area.
Lift had not been working for some time when we visited and consequently had to climb 5 flights of concrete stairs to access room which for elderly people is quite a challenge. Bathroom in desperate need of updating. Stained and therefore grubby looking. Walls very thin.
