Very Poor
On my arrival, the site security guard was very friendly and kindly informed my companions and I, very politely, that the place had been closed for months in order to house immigrants. He also suggested some other hotels nearby.
Up until the day before, I was still not aware of the hotel's closure, their last email being to say the hotel was looking forward to welcoming me the next day!

swimming pool/ young but hard working staff/ good location
The staff were told without any warning the hotel will close in 2 weeks time for 6 months.
The lift isnt working, so you have to walk via the exit stairs or be s rotes by a staff member to use the back room service lift. not an experience I would choose to repeat.
They had a large group tour yet no one was using the restaurant for dinner; it felt awkward to be the sole diner and the food was less than average.

not a lot bed was ok shower was excellent power
where do I start, first room offered was ridiculous I wouldnt put my dog in there it was disgusting, lifts didnt work had too climb up lots of stairs, room full of long black hairs , dinner was included in price but was disgusting the fish smelled off, breakfast would have been ok if it was not so cold, plus food should be covered, only real good thing about this hotel is the staff there very friendly and helpful. too be quiet honest I would stay clear of this hotel until they deal with all there issues, and I actually collapsed on 3 rd floor after climbing all the stairs, got offered too go up in service lift when we arrived with luggage the hotel and kitchen are disgusting behind the scenes, should never have ate any of there food in the first place was sick after first day there never ate on second day, a total waste of our hard earned cash. avoid at all costs.

Stayed here many times previously so very familiar with the hotel
Was very saddened to see the hotel has dramatically fallen in standards since the take over by Muthu hotels.
Lifts not working, staff apathy, dining room closed, awful and expensive food, pool closed. It feels like it's on a slow death to closure . Please please Muthu Hotels invest in the place and halt it's demise.
I, and friends, have been using the hotel for almost 20 years of motorcycle trips to Scotland and have enjoyed every stay except this last one.

This was our second stay in a Mathu hotel, our first was last year in Thurso and we werent impressed but gave it the benefit of the doubt, however our second stay in Erskine would appear to show. that these hotels are poorly managed when it comes to general housekeeping and staff training and give the impression of being run on a shoestring given the lifts in Erskine are out of action and appear to have been out of action for a while to access the bedroom floors you have use the fire escape stairs which are not kept clean, also around the grounds litter is everywhere and the loading area is a disgrace with litter and rubbish bags etc, whilst this may be the the norm in India it doesnt go well with us, Im afraid we wont use this hotel group again no matter how impressive their portfolios show and I certainly wouldnt recommend them to anyone....

Disappointing
Good location and easy to get to with lots of parking
No one in reception when we arrived and no bell to get anyones attention. Had to go into bar to look for staff. Had booked a triple but they only had us booked in for a double. There were enough beds for three in the room but very cramped for space . Windows didnt open. Kettle smelt as though overheating. Breakfast was over cooked and crispy under the hot lamps.
No attention from any staff during breakfast. No milk left for cereal and poor choice. Tea/ coffee had been sitting in hot urns for a long time and very strong.Very few plugs in room.
Renovation work started early on a Saturday morning. No lifts for guests due to renovation work .
