The location and the historical area, nice and quiet and handy for restaurant, pubs and transport
The door security, they should improve the locks and add sone cctv just for peace of mind

Location
Reception looked makeshift, stairs don’t look like they get vacuumed or dusted/wiped. Room was basic. Dropped off bags and went straight to a family event so didn’t notice until the morning that the shower door off its runners, no water came out of sink hot water tap, until I tried to run the shower that must have unblocked an air block in the tap, but it shifted it to the shower as then no water came out of the shower. No one at reception in the morning to report it to.

Keeping your guests outside just because they arrived a bit earlier to check in time. Not even permitted to stay at the reception.

Hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The location. We didn't feel safe walking around the local area in the evening. The rooms were a bit cold the first couple of nights but then they put the heating on.

The en-suite bathroom was clean and the bed as well. Good water pressure and hair dryer. Free parking was great and the busses to the city nearby! Really good coffee places also nearby! The staff on our arrival was really sweet and friendly, sadly we forgot to ask for her name:)
The armchair and carpet flooring had lots of stains, there were small holes in the curtains and the extra chain lock on our door was janked off, which made us feel unsafer than we would have otherwise. Chat messages sadly never were answered (but we did get answers when we arrived, just not upfront). Would have wished for a fridge or communal fridge space but also our fault for not reading the description closely.

Clean and quiet and comfortable.
Lack of hot water in shower although water in hand basin was hot. Shower just warm on 2 days but not even that on third day.
Reception only from 2:30pm to 9:30pm and no assistance with luggage on departure.
