This is a lovely hotel with a lot going for it. Nice staff, good bar and restaurant areas and easy parking. It is picturesque and has been sympathetically updated. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed some good food and drink. Breakfast offered an excellent variety and was delicious.
Our bedroom had no window! Not that it didn't have a view, but that it literally did not have a window. We had paid for an upgrade but, in all honestly, if we'd known that the upgrade would mean a slightly larger room with no window then we definitely wouldn't have bothered.

Lovely building, the reception area, bar and dining room were comfortable and clean.
Our room although well appointed used electricity for lighting and heating which was activated when the room key card was put into a slot by the door. When we arrived the room was really cold so hadn’t been heated prior to our visit and took quite a while to heat up. Once the room was heated it was quite cosy. There was a lot of road noise which can’t be helped as the hotel is on the roadside. But, the windows were single glazed making it a bit noisy at night. There had been a function on in the hotel on the Saturday night so there was extra noise with taxis and people waiting outside. Double or secondary glazing would have definitely helped with that.

Very comfortable bed & pillows. Liked all the small extras in the bathroom. Friendly welcoming reception staff.
No window in the room only Velux skyline windows which did open. Rooms decorated in brown which makes the room very dark.

I arrived at 9pm and hadn't had anything to eat, and your lovely man on reception whipped me up a chicken curry, which was delicious. At breakfast I asked your nice chap who was looking after everyone if he could make me a large bowl of porridge, and your chef made the largest bowl, which was MUCH appreciated. I do a lot of training and I needed a proper breakfast to get me through the day. Thank you to the chef, brilliant!
