Prime location and easy to park
We were asked to leave the garden as it was closed , yet wedding guests were allowed to sit outside. Half and hours after checking in I received a phone call to ask if we were still staying at the hotel and when told we had already checked in , I was advised the system wasn’t updated. Jonny the barman wasn’t very approachable, when ordering drinks, it seemed to be an effort , we weren’t told how much the order was , just passed a card machine for payment , he also pulled faced , and gave attitude to other colleagues in our presence . Didn’t make us feel to welcome

Very poor breakfast. If you don’t like a cooked breakfast then very basic. Over priced .

Comfortable beds, the cooked breakfast was good. Waitress at breakfast was friendly and helpful.
The continental breakfast was poor with no selection of cheese, meat or bread. Room was dark and cramped with no chairs. TV position was poor to watch comfortably. Only place to plug in kettle was on unit in front of TV due to a short kettle flex and no other surface. Staff welcome at reception was subdued.

Skylight in bedroom , no one showed me how to work electric blind so was woken at 4am by the sun beaming in. Breakfast area had no one when I got there had to ask receptionist where every one was after making my own coffee

Dinner was very good and the service from Sean in the bar was first class. Room was fine but a little grubby in places such as the door frame had marks on it that needed cleaning. Bed was very comfortable. Need bigger glasses for water in the room.
I was unable to add a service to the bar bill to tip the staff and so they had an unneccessarily complicated way for me to tip. Check out also seemed a little fidgety compared to normal hotels, but as someone was being trained it wasn't a problem, more just a comment.
