Late check-in was possible, which was great! The beds were comfy and very decent shower, would definitely recommend.

Location and staff were excellent. Room was basic but very clean.
Smokers were out on the steps most of the night and very loud.

I arrived by bus and the hostel is not too far from the bus station about 10-15 minute walk. I arrived a little after noon and was able to check in early for an additional cost. I did not spend too much time at the hostel as there is so much to do within walking distance. Rooms had plenty of space and beds had curtains and were pretty comfortable. Reception also gave really great recommendations for things to do and great places to eat at.
Rooms were fairly spacious but not a lot of room for luggage so most people stored luggage along the wall but did not get in the way of guests. The hostel is along a busy road but the noise wasn't too bad.

Very Good
The four person bunk room was bare bones, the single was very comfortable. Stayed two different times. Lobby can get very social, but my bunk was nearest to that space and I couldn't hear anything, so good soundproofing. Good place for Travellers to meet
In room storage for the bunk would be nice. The window was stuck shut too, with 4 ppl can be tough. Hot water cost money, which was a bummer.

Good
I liked the bed curtains, light and outlet options.
The shower head was broken and the bathrooms were not as clean as I liked. The lockers were also pretty beat up.

Nice older building. We were able to drop off our luggage to be stored until check in time. This allowed us to explore the city without carrying full backpacks.
There were no fridges or shelves to store food in, no place to cook food, no real kitchen. It was unlike other hostels in that regard. The common room was small had no comfortable chairs. It did not provide that nice hostel feel where travellers could meet and share stories, or play a game of chess. Etc.

Disappointing
A twenty minute walk to Buchanan St and the heart of downtown Glasgow.
The hostel is extremely rundown and in serious need of renovation. The bunk beds are very low to the ground. A thin mattress a metre off the ground. You literally roll off the bed onto the floor. The bunks themselves are just pieces of metal screwed together. There is a small window that provides some air but not much. The owners should get rid of the chairs and replace them with a desk.. Some pictures on the wall to make it feel more like a home.. while the hallways are freshly painted, no care was taken in the rooms. Lots of chipped paint and scratched walls. That should be the top priority. The locker don't lock. There's not even a place to secure your belongings.

Good
Cooperative staff.
Quad room was a bit cramped . At that price it's ok.. however there should be a common kitchen atleast as prevalent in all hostels.

Very Good
Our room was more comfortable and had more amenities (tub as well as shower; tv, desk and chair, small shelves and hooks for clothes/storage) than I expected. The hostel was quiet at night, as was the neighborhood. The downstairs lounge was comfortable and quiet.
We had to wait almost an hour to get into our room, because of staffing shortages. Many other people were also waiting for their rooms to be available. The only staff member at the reception desk had to leave the desk unattended, and physically go to our room, and many other rooms, to see if they had been cleaned. Surely there could be a better way for staff to communicate? All the staff we dealt with were pleasant, but they were obviously stressed and trying to do many things at once.
