We arrived early for check-in and they allowed us to store our bags there.
They helped out finding a laundromat for us to use while we waited.
The scones were late at breakfast because the oven was in use, so she packed them up for us to take with us as we were leaving.
Breakfast was awesome and made to order.
They did not have a fan to loan out, which helps me stay cool at night. However I made due and it was ok.

Easy taxi trip from airport to this lovely hotel
close to good restaurants. Hosts were delightful & very helpful. We enjoyed the relaxing lounge & the choice of a vast collection of Scottish whiskies.

Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They were friendly and offered dinner suggestions. We stayed one night before our flight home. The bar area was nice and the sitting area was great to relax and chat with friends. The hotel is clean.
The area. Pulling up to the hotel, the area seems sketchy. The hotel sits on top of the hill, away from the town, yet walking distance to restaurants. There is not much in the way of things to do or shop. The area surrounding the hotel is very run down.

Lovely welcome and chat with Maureen the owner/manager. So much nicer than arriving at some chain hotel.
The building has lots of character and my double room at the back was quiet and cosy.

The downstairs had a nice lounge and restaurant. The staff were friendly.
The location was confusing. When we arrived we thought we were at the wrong place. There was a “hotel” sign but it looked like it was an abandoned building. Turns out they were doing some exterior work. They NEED a sign out by the entrance gate clearly showing the name of the hotel.
The restaurant was overpriced for the serving size provided.

Disappointing
The property has potential and is cozy.
It currently has scaffolding all over the front of the building as the chimneys were being repaired. The property needs some improvements, like new carpeting, the front step is broken and could be a liability. The bedroom was nice but again, the paint work needs refreshing. The front and back gardens looked like they needed care and maintenance. Staff seemed pleasant.

Amazing history behind hotel which we loved Mama Mia also loved the whisky ? bar. Mum Enjoyed her dram from the Scottish Isles. All staff Maureen, Tom, Anne, Floria were fantastic, made us feel so warm and welcome ❤️ beautiful room which was kindly upgraded for us ? all around 100/100! See you all soon thank you to you all love Lorna & Mama Mia ? XXXXX

House had been damaged in a hurricane in January & was clad in scaffolding, which was understandable. We were there on Aug 26th. The grounds had not been maintained. An outside patio area next to what had been a servants entry was basically a junk catch-all & in need of power washing. The front steps were starting to sink and shift. The paid breakfast was iffy at best. The bathroom vanity had nails or screws sticking out. The bed was comfortable. HOWEVER, the staff was very nice & attentive.

The Ashtree House is beautifully charming and cozy! The staff is incredible and the food delicious. We will be back and hopefully get to stay longer next time. We loved it here!

The warm reception with good suggestions of local attractions to visit in the area. I had an early morning flight and the front desk was helpful in booking a reliable taxi for my pickup.
The hotel was not very clearly marked. A hotel name sign on the first outside wall would have been very helpful.

Absolutely everything! The rooms, the service, the food were exceptional! Maureen and Tom have done a wonderful job with this historical piece of Paisley. The stories we heard and the enjoyable whiskey we had while there just topped our trip in Scotland!
