Pleasant
Excellent location for Glasgow west end and Commonwealth Games venues.
Good breakfast was friendly staff.
We booked two rooms. One was very good but the other (single room, but at the same price) was very small with extremely cramped bathroom (difficult to use!)

Good
Good location for public transport. Adequate facilities. Good coffee at breakfast. Bed was comfortable.
A bit tired and dated decor. Bathroom extractor fan wouldn't turn off so was noisy all night. Breakfast sausages were not very good.

The staff were excellent. The location was good for the Commonwealth Games - with nearby train station and good bus route.
The second room I was given was much better - still in the basement but much bigger with lovely large bathroom and with windows on two sides looking out on street above.
I particularly valued the understanding of the concierge when I complained about my first room and said how disappointed I was - particularly given the price I was paying. He immediately offered me a different room which was much better.
I am vegan and was delighted that the staff were able to offer plant milks and had vegan breakfast options available. they also let me have a tea before my coffee which was very kind - just how I like my breakfast to start.
Although I was very disappointed and upset by my first room I would stay again - providing the price point was acceptable- as the staff, catering and cleanliness were all very good - and the hotel is situated in a quiet area of town.
I was so disappointed when I arrived - late in the evening for my stay. I should say I was in the Guest House - across the road from the main hotel. The single room was tiny and, although I knew it was a basement room, it had a depressing outlook onto dustbins. The bathroom was tiny too and would have been difficult to navigate for someone bigger. The worst aspect, however, was the smell - it was very chemically and I thought there was a tobacco smell underlying this. My presumption was that the housekeeping staff ( who were excellent) had had to try hard to clean the room after someone smoked in it. This smell dissipated somewhat overnight after I had the window open. I knew prices were high because of the Games but given I was paying about £150 per night for the room I thought it was terrible and was quite upset - particularly as there were such good reviews on the site. I did not complain that first night as thought that was not fair but I did raise the next morning with the duty concierge who was excellent and very helpful - he immediately offered me a change of rooms. I do think that the single room should be priced considerably lower - if I had been paying half of the price I would have thought it acceptable given it was a busy time of year.

Excellent location for visiting the SEC and Hydro, Kelvingrove and a walk into the very city centre. The room was comfortable for 3 and clean and well equipped. The cooked breakfast in the main hotel opposite was excellent. Street parking over the weekend is free although you might need to drive around a bit to find a space at peak times.
All was good, but the price was keen because the Commonwealth Games were on (which we were visiting and were fab!). Being street-side meant the room was a little noisy overnight....but it's a great central city location in a busy part of town for restaurants and bars, so to be expected.

The room was a decent size and furnished well. The ensuite was also a decent size and had a walk-in shower. Breakfast was provided at the Argyll Hotel over the road and had a wide selection.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.
We were very impressed with everything, including value for money.
Nothing to report.

Very Good
All staff were friendly, bed was comfy and room was clean. Location was good, close to lots of restaurants, the park and walking distance from the Hydro (the reason I was in Glasgow).
Bathroom shower head could have been cleaner, I arrived very late and was only staying one night so didn't alert staff until I checked out, hopefully that issue has been addressed but can't confirm. Double room was an okay size for one person for one night but would be a bit cramped for two or a longer stay.

Basic but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Excellent location and the Breakfast was exceptional. There was so much choice including boiled eggs, which is rare for a buffet and the staff were very welcoming and ensuring we had everything we needed. Would 100% stay and have breakfast here again.
