Very Good
Clean quite room with all necessary facilities. It's location was perfect for our purpose - visit to University of Glasgow.
Hot breakfast was nice to have but the quality of sausages was questionable.

Very Good
Central location in Glasgow. Perfect location for shops, the park, the museums and the university.
No parking. We knew this ahead of time and were able to find street parking overnight, but it was a slight inconvenience. You also need to check in and have breakfast across the street.

Exceptional
Lovely breakfast, friendly helpful staff, no charge to store luggage till departure, close to public transport, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, and felt safe in the neighbourhood. The tartan decor added to my Scottish holiday.
I could manage the steep steps to my room but others may have found it difficult.

Disappointing
The location was good. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Haidryers, kettles, etc were provided which was helpful. Rooms at the back of the building were must quieter.
The one thing that we were not at all happy with was the rude receptionist. In the early part of the day there was a receptionist who was brilliant. She was a delight. In the afternoons and evenings, the receptionist was clearly not interested in the guests, made them wait while he did other things and was rude on occasion.

Good
It was very conveniently located in the Westend - great for short business stays. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the breakfast was nice if a bit bland (maybe some cheese would have been nice, but that's just me).
If staying at the Argyll Guest House the rooms can be a bit dark, but if you're not spending a lot of time in the rooms, that's fine.

Good
Sufficiently good guest house, with sufficiently comfortable and clean rooms and a clean and comfortable private bathroom with hot water. The area is lovely, with lots of excellent bars and restaurants, the park nearby and quiet at night, and the price was more than fair... but I'm not sure if I would return to this place...
The good: I was in one of the smaller rooms on the below-ground floor level, right below the stairs to the entrance of the building. Surprisingly, there was little to no noise from neighbouring rooms, and the noise from the bar across the street died down around 11pm-midnight, so that was fine. I spent 3 nights and slept fine in the fairly comfortable (but short) bed. I also did some work in the room, which was not very comfortable because there was little room on the desk and no real chair, but internet worked fine. Personnel was friendly upon checkin and checkout and lended me an adapter without any issue or bother. Breakfast in the sister hotel across the street was ok, waiters there were friendly as well. And I appreciated the free coffee-tea in the room and the biscoff-like treat.
The bad: The carpet in the room was digusting, to be honest. When I entered, there was a musty smell. Luckily, I could open the window entirely all day to vent. I did not walk on the carpet with bare feat though, because it was quite sticky. Really unfortunate. It was the same throughout the guest house: there is almost no ventilation because the front door is always closed, and there is a musty smell in the hallways because of the carpet being everywhere and very old. Quite a shame, really, because the place has lots of potential. Similarly, while overall cleanliness was fine, the devil is in the details: air vent and central heating system in bathroom were full of dust, towel rack a bit rusty, flowers at the entrance but not in the moat on the belowgrounds where empty cans of softdrink lay rusting... Lastly, while I appreciated breakfast service, I would have liked to have a bit more choice in the morning aside from the English breakfast option currently on offer. People who don't fancy blood sausage, bacon, beans and eggs in the morning have little else available to them except (tastless) toast with jam or some yoghurt. I would have liked to seen some regular bread, a bit of cheese and/or croissant.

Wonderful
The room and bathroom were super clean. The breakfast was plenty and delicious. Staff friendly and approachable. The room was quiet at night even though it was street-facing. We had a good rest!
The location is lovely; close to the West end of Glasgow with nice places to walk and discover.
The carpets and wallpapers were a bit worn down - but still very clean, and this did not take away from the comfort of the room.

Fair
It was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were very kind and friendly.
We were staying in room 7, and when you opened one luggage, there was not enough space for you to move, and it was very stuffy.
