parking/breakfast/ the room/ the location We always stay here when visiting edinburgh with the car. hotel of choice with a 40 minute wall into stockbridge
i stay here regularly. either on my own or with family. we have arrived in the past to find we've been upgraded to a leisure stay without telling us prior so we arrived unprepared. this time I brought swimming costumes just in case but no upgrades either to the room or the facilities. in fact the view of the black building was oppressive.

The property was clean and the room as well, all I needed was a basic room so I was happy.
For me it was just the location a bit far out for a tourist visit. The Bar Menu was a little pricey for what was on offer.

Location and quality of food in the restaurant.
Very noisy in the common areas as piped music too loud as there appeared to be little sound dampening.

Free parking at the weekend was great, staff were welcoming.
We were on the fourth floor (top) an air conditioning system or similar ran overnight, our window although double glazed did not dull traffic noise, the toilet was leaking onto the wet room floor and had no lid, although the shower was good, having a disabled seat and shower curtain was not what we expected, the water ran across the floor so we either had to be bare foot or in outdoor shoes then walk onto the carpet - not the best. Two tea bags for a two night stay seemed stingy.

Clean and fresh , bed very comfortable, leisure club and free parking a massive bonus
It was difficult to use our membership discount, we rang ahead and couldn’t get anyone on the phone

Stayed on a family break Sunday bank holiday Monday kids had to be out of pool by 12, thought maybe allowances could be made particularly as bank holiday. Fine for business use wouldn’t recommend families
