Disappointing
We liked the 2 ladies who worked at the spa's front, blonde and brunette, mid ages..they were lovely.the noise cancelling is amazing in the room, there was a huge storm outside and we couldn't hear a thing
The smallest family room ever, got only 2 glasses for 4 people.2 towels.kids couldn't use anything in the spa,the hit tub was switched on for only 3 mins then 15 minutes break.pool was dirty, full of hair as swimming cup is not needed. The people in sauna are wearing slippers in the seats, nobody tells them not to . Croissant looks few days old at breakfast. We paid £300 for a night and never slept worse in my life very small beds with bed side tables /shelves between the head part of the bed with very sharp edges.the duvet was so big, like twice size of the bed .I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.exoensive and overrated

Location is good with good transport links into Edinburgh central, staff were absolutely lovely.
Toilet stank the room out when we arrived. Not enough working plug sockets. Was expecting a bit more space for a family room.

Check in staff exceptional, overall front desk staff exceptional during our stay. Gym and pool very good. Kids amenities in and outside the eating area very good.
It was a Thursday night and our only night staying & to be told by the bar manager at 9pm that the draught alcohol taps would close in 15mins (only bottles/wine for the rest of the night) as all taps would be closed for keg changes was a absolutely ridiculous scenario?? I mean the lack of respect it shows to your customers at the peak time after a long day out seeing Edinburgh and after dinner when looking to relax with some draught beers ..this should have been done in the morning!! ..it beggars belief! Who does that to their customers at peak time. I can have a bottle of beer at home! A managers decision too!? Ruined our night relaxing and such a poor poor decision which had obviously perplexed the bar staff too who didn't know where to look and were embarrassed to have to front that ridiculous decision up to everyone in the bar who were not happy. A needless arrogant thing to do by a manager.

Very Good
The size of the room and places to put my bag, bathroom was alright too, room was generally good, TV was new enough to mirror my music
Bed was good size
Mattress was waaay to soft and bouncy, every time my partner moved I bounced up and I was waking up all night - and I am not a light sleeper.
The night shift receptionist was very exasperated because we asked him to get towels to go to the gym, he didn't even know what time it was rudely telling us that the swimming pool doesn't open until 6am. when it was 6:15. He was just interested. He loudly exhaled when I asked him for a towel. He gave me dirty towel which I didn't notice until I was in the changing room, but I just waited until day stuff was present to change it to a clean one.
Breakfast coffee is just disgusting it has nothing to do with Americano. Breakfast is ok other wise, a bit plane, dont understand why hotels get away with porridge pots anymore - covid is over and these pods are full of sugar.
