Wonderful
We had a very cool room on the 8th floor, large bed, skylights, great bathroom. The central location of the hotel made it very easy to see all the sights of old Edinburgh.
A little awkward getting in and out of the hotel due to the never ending construction on the main street (out of the hotels hands of course).

The location was excellent for sightseeing & near to the train station. The room was well furnished with lots of room. There was a good choice at breakfast, & the staff were helpful & friendly.

Room was beautiful, spacious, and had great views!
This is not the fault of the hotel, but the noise from the street below was pretty loud. Our room was street-side, and the hotel has taken precautions by installing extra windows and heavy drapes, but construction and the vehicles kept running over this metal grate in the road that was VERY annoying. Again, not the hotels fault.

I didn’t attend the breakfast
I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was not as expected for the following reasons:
1. The elevator was not working, and we had to use the stairs throughout our stay, which was very inconvenient.
2. The security deposit that was charged has still not been refunded, even though more than 20 days have passed. At check-out, I was informed that the refund would be processed within a week, but I have yet to receive it.
I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter as soon as possible.

I ordered an old fashioned cocktail in the Grande Cafe/bar & it did not taste like any other old fashioned id ever had!
I was disappointed-I googled the contents of an old fashioned & asked the server had they all been included.
He said they were-but frankly I didn’t believe him & still don’t believe him.
For the record I was stone cold sober at the time.

The central location for the Festival is great.
The room was very dark.
The breakfast was hit and miss. One morning no butter or choice of bread and croissants ran out and not replaced. The smoked Haddock and poached egg was very tasty.
