Walking distance to all attractions, very convenient. Hotel staff was accommodating and friendly. Extremely clean. Overall The Scotsman is a fabulous place to stay.

The location was fantastic and our room had a fabulous view. The staff were very friendly and helpful, obviously keen to give guests an individual experience.
Some of the edgier modern art on the walls (who wants to see a portrait of a man with empty eye sockets every time they come out of their room?)

Everything about this hotel was spectacular. The service (especially John in the breakfast room) was excellent, the location couldn't have been any better, and the room was beautiful.

We were pleasantly surprised at the luxury and location of the Scotsman hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t eat at the hotel, but would definitely eat at the restaurant if we stayed in Edinburgh again.
I have no negative feedback with our stay at the hotel.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and overall had an excellent experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service was attentive and warm, and the location is fantastic.
Unfortunately, our arrival started on the wrong note. At check-in, the representative at the front desk (who we later understood was actually the manager on her last day of work) behaved in a rude and unprofessional manner. She tried to push us into an unnecessary upgrade — suggesting we spend one night in a suite and then move to another room — while all we wanted was to stay in the room we had originally booked for the entire stay. We explained this politely and clearly, but she responded with unnecessary rudeness.
Thankfully, from that point on everything was exceptional. The rest of the team, including the management, were welcoming, professional, and went out of their way to make our visit special.
Despite the unpleasant check-in experience, we left with very positive impressions and would gladly recommend the hotel to others.

The best location, Next to train station
For the first night I stayed in room 806, many stairs to climb, especially with big luggage , not so convenient.

The staff was incredible and so helpful! Excellent recommendations for places to visit, how to navigate transportation issues (parking, etc) and just so lovely in general.
The bed in our room (508) was not very comfortable. Both of us had neck and shoulder pain after sleeping on it.

Great location, lovely rooms with tea and coffee facilities, mini bar and complimentary whiskey on arrival. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly and helpful.

Staff were unhelpful first room they put us in only had a small window high up in the wall they relocated us when we demonstrated that it was not what we booked wanted to charge £50 per night for new room
Whole episode was stressful
Toilet roll holder was broken for whole of our stay
Roadworks are causing massive problems when you arrive by car especially when it is pouring rain
Fortunately Sammy the concierge was very helpful in fact he was the only staff member who showed any guest service he was excellent

Location is perfect, just the center of the old town, few steps to Waverley Train station, and picturesque & historic building
The staff were very helpful, they even helped us to carry our baggages even inside the Waverley train station
Elevator and the corridors need to be renovated, the carpets look so dirty and old, but no problem with the rooms
