The rooms are okay, the bed was okay
Very very bad value for money. There is no one staffing this place. You have to call to get in the hotel, they dont tell you this before on booking. They leave your keys on some desk with instructions how to get in and out. Literally 0 staff around for anything.
I left something very important in the hotel by accident. I called a number and the attendant was exceptionally rude, claimed to have tried to contact me but didn’t even bother to send a message on booking, hung up the phone on me. When organizing g the return, Which I did with booking mediating because the staff are untrustworthy, the staff made insane demands like UPS must come to their property within the hour, since they refuse to be at their property during the opening hours they state.

It had a beautiful park across the street and good restaurants in the neighborhood. The sherry was delicious!
Bed was nearly on the floor. No shelving in the bathroom or shower. Floor in the bathroom was coming apart. Hard to get the management to answer questions before checking in.

Great location to explore Leith and Edinburgh
Ancient bed, not very comfortable. Food is not allowed in bedrooms, and the public area is a bit grim. Very expensive for the quality of accommodation

Easy check-in and check-out, and the biscuits always available are a nice touch.
The property is so clean, and directly across from a huge park, a bus stop is right outside the door.
Everyone is super friendly and accommodating, and my room was large and comfortable. I stayed in an en-suite room on the ground floor that overlooked a garden and slept so well!

Bed comfortable.
The external private bathroom is extremely difficult to get open as the key/lock if very old, would not recommend this room option at all. Dusty room. Staff communications over email sporadic. Overpriced.

I was very uncomfortable with how one accesses the building. I was lucky the door was open and my keys were waiting but what if the door was locked?

USB charger (good for foreigners), clothing iron, hot shower, baby crib, nice neighborhood
Room was EXTREMELY small (when we laid out our luggages, there was no room to walk). TV was very old and remote control had no batteries. Electronic safe was not working. When we wanted to cancel the last day, the owner didnt help us. Doesnt have a kitchen. Maintenance isnt very good (some drawer handles missing). No fridge in rooms (there is a small one in common area. Doesnt have its own parking space but street parking is free and easy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sandaig. The highlight was the amazing reception by Luke, so kind and helpful. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Without doubt we'll return on our next trip to Edinburgh.
