The man at reception was super friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was OK but when asked if I wanted coffee only filter came even though there was a proper coffee machine. Needed to know if there was an option even if it cost extra.

The room and bathroom were huge! Loved the big soaker tub n the comfy bed. The fancy old school mansion style was also nice. Also enjoyed the breakfast. Location was just on the outskirts of the city center so it was nice n quiet but did require us to take a bus into the city center.
The TV was super small and kinda far from the bed. So definitely need to upgrade the TV to match the size of the room n maybe relocate it because the bed frame post was in the way also.

Fabulous continental breakfast. Parking space outside . Quiet . Comfortable.
Nil but I missed the personal touch of having someone in reception to check in with . Had to use a self service check in system as no one on reception . Demonstrates the importance of the human !

Ok, so for the money it was fine. A little far out from main attractions, but we knew that. The room had a fridge and toiletries were included... even a toothbrush.
The bed. On the first night I had the worst night's sleep I had ever had. I almost booked another hotel for the second night, but then I read the reviews and someone said their bed was uncomfortable because the hotel had taken a mattress topper and folded it in half. That is what they had done here... took that off and the second night was fine. Breakfast was not good. Hot water was problematic the first night, but strangely ok the second night. But like I say the price is reasonable, so you get what you pay for.

Perfect location for visiting Edingburgh University. A big room, with a comfortable bed and several seating options. Lovely breakfast.
Part of one of the window frames was broken and the curtain was hanging off the rail. Also a dead plant on the outside steps on arrival. Just a little bit more attention to detail needed for a 4 star hotel rating.
