Very Poor
Nothing again
This was my second stay at this hotel and, unfortunately, the same pattern continued.
I had booked and paid for a Superior Double Room, but I was not given the room category I had reserved. When I complained, I was first told that changing rooms was impossible because the hotel was fully booked.
After I called directly, I was then told that a change was possible. In the end, they only changed the floor, not the room category. I was moved upstairs, but still to a room below the Superior category I had paid for.
This is what I found most unacceptable: the information given by the hotel was contradictory and, in practice, nothing was properly resolved.
After the problems during my first stay, I expected them to take responsibility and make sure the second stay was handled correctly. Instead, I again had to chase, call and complain, while the hotel gave inconsistent explanations and failed to provide the room I had actually booked.

Very Poor
Nothing
An extremely poor and stressful stay.
The room had several problems, including spiders inside the room, issues with the bathroom/water, and a serious problem with the fire alarm.
The fire alarm incident was particularly unacceptable. All guests had to leave the hotel and wait outside in the cold for more than 30 minutes until the person responsible finally arrived.
What was even worse was that, in front of everyone, the hotel representative identified our room as the room where the alarm had been triggered, creating the impression that we were somehow responsible. We were not.
The problem was with the incorrect positioning/installation of the fire detector, and the hotel owner himself acknowledged that the same thing had already happened with other guests before. If this was a known recurring issue, it should have been fixed rather than allowing guests to experience the same situation again.
Throughout the stay, I had to repeatedly report problems, contact the property and chase solutions. I received apologies, but what I needed was a proper and definitive resolution. I am a paying guest on holiday, not someone there to test rooms or identify maintenance failures for the hotel.
Reception also has very limited opening hours, which makes matters considerably worse when something goes wrong and there is nobody available on site.
Eventually, because the problems were not being handled adequately, I had to contact Booking.com and escalate the situation.
A hotel stay should not involve spiders, unresolved maintenance issues, a known faulty fire-alarm setup, more than 30 minutes standing outside in the cold, and then having your room publicly singled out as though you were responsible.
Unfortunately, this was an extremely disappointing experience and absolutely not the relaxing stay I paid for.

Location, cleanliness of room, garden view from our window and breakfast.
Bar fridge was a bit rickety and not knowing there was a switch for the bathroom exhaust fan.

The atmosphere of the hotel hasbeen wonderful. The backyard was excellent kept. Unfortunately no flowers in the garden. The person who welcomed us has been very kind and friendly (unfortunetely I didn't ask for his name).
Both mattesses have been sagging. Thats an absolutely no go for an hotel. When showering the bathroom was covered by water. The windows in the room couldn't be opened without help - just too heavy. Breakfast was good. During our stay the staff changed very often. Thats not was I expect in a family-run hotel!

The breakfast tea did not taste very nice, I think the water had been reheated too many times!

Breakfast was the highlight
Check in was fast but we were pushed with about 15emails and messages before arrival. This should be limited to one or 2. We were told 5 times that they have limited staff.
The shower wasn't working correctly. The room wasn't the cleanest. The divan beds were ripped amd torn.
We went for one night and that is enough

I always walked to the city center, and it was also very easy to get there by bus. The room we stayed in was much bigger and nicer compared to other rooms at the same price. In fact, it was the nicest room I have stayed in within this budget so far. The breakfast was also quite varied and very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I was genuinely very satisfied with my stay.
