Room was still not ready at 3.45
Unable to drink in lobby after been told bar is full and to wait in the lobby. Staff spoke to us like second class citizens. The bathroom smelt of damp and black mould in shower tray. The fridge motor was very loud the bed uncomfortable room right to the lift

Great location, staff friendly, yes it was expensive, but you definitely get what you pay food, breakfast really good and not rushed. Made every effort to make my wife's birthday extra special.

Very handy for the town and the station 10 minutes walk hotel nice warm very friendly people and very helpful and polite northing to much much trouble
As we getting older the help of hand rail would have assisted us in getting in and out bath to have a shower
As after having a shower and getting out of the bath the mat move causing me to slip so having to grab the sink to stop me falling

The staff within the hotel were lovely, very attentive and friendly.
The location was excellent, very central to lots of amenities.
The hall ways to the room are looking rather tired, and really rather basic for such a hotel.
The room itself was rather basic too, with a tiny bathroom, and a TV that wasn't a "Smart TV". In this day and ages it's a expectation really.
We went for a drink in the bar, early evening and not particularly busy. I was advised it was table service and that they'd be right over... 20mins and it was only when we were about to leave that the bar manager (I assume) took note and got the drinks herself.
We noted several couples walking out as they had been waiting so long, not a great look.
Overall the price of the stay was more than the experience would warrant. Unfortunate.

LOVED THE ROOM, STAFF AND HOTEL ESPECIALLY THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, however the Noise outside our room which backed onto a lane really put a dampener on the stay, the scaffolders woke us up at 8am on a Sunday morning with very loud work right outside our room.
Very noisy lane outside the room nighttime people passing by and shouting and delivery trucks or vehicle passing by at all hours. Then early Sunday morning the scaffold workers started outside the room on the building opposite ours, they were putting up scaffolding, it was unbelievably noisy for a Sunday morning at 8am, it definitely ruined our stay. They were using power tools to attach metal poles and hammering and throwing metal poles around for hours, Noises though the night in the room, of flushing and water running and tanks filling all night.
Breakfast was busy, staff were lovely but it was a little slow for the gluten free order, and my gf toast didn't arrive until i asked a second time, i was finished the meal and it was cold..

The location was brilliant. The hotel is old world charm and mostly comfortable. Staff were lovely, all over the hotel.
The size of our bathroom was really disappointing! IT WAS TINY! TEENY TINY! You couldn't swing a cat! We paid for a Premium King room and we expected a decent sized ensuite. I should have taken a closer look at that when I booked it. The room was a great size, and it was spotless.

Our room was lovely, we were also upgraded so it was very comfortable and the beds were fabulous! Welcome staff were lovely ad the concierge was very friendly and super helpful with our bags and belongings when checking into our room and leaving.
We had a very delicious meal in the restaurant and it was 10/10.
Our breakfast that we ordered for room service. Coffee was not hot and although the breakfast was tasty it was limited and warm.
We feel that no 'love had been put into the presentation'. 1 x slice of toast which our eggs were on and preserves were included but no toast to have with them.
Given a 5 star hotel - breakfast should be 'top notch' especially when delivered to our room.
