The lobby. Friendly staff.
Hotel is very tired. Had to move room once, could have a second. Suspect the hotel is tired under the hood with investment on infrastructure due. All service are noisy. No good communal areas for working. Take a box of cornflakes to find your way around. Unusual layout.

A fantastically central hotel with amazing staff and rooms. We were welcomed straight away and provided with a room at 8am after our journey off the sleeper train, which was not expected.
The staff also sent a bottle of Prosecco to our room to make our stay even more special. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Breakfast was superb, as was the restaurant in the evenings. In both cases the staff were excellent - very attentive, friendly and polite but not intrusive.
On arrival in my room, the first thing I wanted to do was close the window, as it had been left open and the room was a little chilly - but the window handle came off in my hand. It was not the best first impression.

Excellent location and fantastic staff, all very welcoming and attentive. Walking distance to everything. Great street for shopping.
We stayed in a large double as we were travelling with teenagers. Room was large enough but the bathroom was tiny. Very comfy beds and well stocked for in room tea and coffee. Some areas were a little dated. Breakfast not remarkable but fine.

I chose this hotel for its excellent location and beautiful architecture.
Naturally, I trusted that Intercontinental would live up to its reputation.
The elegant lobby, the cleanliness of the room, and the fresh renovation initially confirmed that we had made the right choice.
Check-in took somewhat longer than expected.
The windows in our room were covered with a frosted film, as the view was entirely obstructed by the surrounding buildings.
The fitness room left much to be desired — more closely resembling a small storage area for gym equipment than a proper facility.
On the second day of our stay, no room service was provided. After requesting it via the concierge, a maid eventually arrived — though not promptly.
Shortly afterwards, another staff member came to our room and asked me three times, “No more complaints now?” — a line of questioning that felt unnecessarily confrontational. We had, after all, only asked for room service.
Upon check-out, no assistance with our luggage was offered.
It was raining as we exited the lobby, yet no one came to help, nor did anyone acknowledge our departure.
The front door was simply closed behind us — as though we had never stayed there.
Despite all of this, no one hesitated to accept our generous tips.
