Very central to everything. Lovely rooms clean comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. A real fire in reception to welcome you in from the outside cold was a nice touch and most welcome. I would stay in this hotel again.

Nice shower, comfortable beds, good wifi, quiet. Nice stuff and great location.
Breakfast was a total disappointment. The bare minimum would be fresh bread and croissants - they were definitely not. Also a small selection at the buffet, the eggs seemed to be precooked way ahead of time. Very much overpriced.

Nice welcoming fireplace in the foyer with cosy bar. Super location.
Pillows were very hard and there is a very steep hill upon exiting the hotel but that is not the best way to get anywhere anyway. The nicest route is flat

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel is in a good central location. The room was spacious and clean and I was able to check in early.
Found the breakfast was quite pricey considering the price of the room, I know Edinburgh has hit an all time high for accommodation but would have been nice to have it included in the price.

Nice and comfortable spot. Easily near train station and other shops.
Elevator says it is “out of order” but there’s no mechanism for it to leave the first floor. We got lucky and were only on the first floor but be aware!

Location was actually really good and easy to find, room was simple and the bed was comfortable. It’s an old hotel so has a lot of character, which for me is a bonus. It’s close enough to everything that you don’t need directions to get back, but far enough that you aren’t having to listen to the hustle and bustle of the center. Bus and train station are a two minute walk from the hotel! So great for any early morning excursions!
The amount of milk (in my case oat milk) they left in the rooms, certainly needed a few more. But they do give you more soon as you ask.

The location, the bed was comfortable.
Well, not elevators, is overpriced for what it is, the entrance hall is old and need some renovations. Shampoo ? soaps ? at the room were not good I felt my hair very dry after using it.. nowadays is very easy to solve that, in any modern hotel you’ll find good soaps with creams, hand creams etc, I think that can help to improve the experience at the hotel.
