Told we had an upgrade to a suite on arrival. It far exceeded our expectations with fabulous views over Edinburgh. Breakfast was fab too with loads of choice. Staff very friendly and informative. Will definitely stay here again even without the upgrade.

Great location close to transit and walkable to many top attractions. Quiet and safe. Pretty rooms. Clean. Welcoming staff.

The hotel is situated on a quiet street yet perfectly located. Our room was facing an internal courtyard which was under construction, so we asked for a room change which was politely addressed. We got a smaller but cosier and absolutely quiet room with an excellent view of Calton Hill. The room had everything possibly needed - a kettle, complimentary coffee, tea, and milk; water; a fridge; a smart TV; very nicely warmed bathroom; hairdryer; good wardrobe area, SUPER comfy bed and pillows; thick curtains. The lounge area is charming with authentic decorations and a fireplace. Further, the stuff were polite and helpful in arranging a birthday gift for my partner. We only wished we could have stayed longer, as we had 2 more days in Edinburgh and we had to move to a nearby hotel which is far less characteristic and doesn’t feel as welcoming. Highly recommending this hotel!

The location is perfect. We arrived from London by train and it took only 5 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel, with no stairs at all, which was very convenient with luggage. On our departure day, we had an early train and getting back to the station was just as easy. The room was very clean, and the staff were extremely kind and friendly. The hotel is very central — we were able to walk everywhere. There is also a shopping mall just 4 minutes away. The design of the hotel is also beautiful.
