Awesome location, great staff, good breakfast, really enjoyed our stay, would definitely go back.
Pillows too hard, price was more than I wanted to spend.

Wonderful
The room was surprisingly spacious, i like the bathroom, the room looks newly refurbished. Considering scotland is expensive, the value for money is fair enough. they also have lift that is convenient if you have heavy luggage or bags. Location is excellent, close to waverly station and restaurants, shops. Would book again in the future.
No bottled water provided, just needed some dusting in the room. over all nothing major negative feedback.

Wonderful
Charming and cheerful room and building in a quiet convenient location.
The breakfast was far more expensive than another hotel we stayed at in Edinburgh earlier in the trip. It may well have been good, but I wasn’t tempted to pay that much for breakfast.

Location
I am convinced that guests making reservation through booking .com or other similar facilities will get the rooms facing the back alleys.
I tried to convince the hotel that going by elevator to the 4th floor and going down through a narrow stairs case to my room in the adjacent building is hard for me.
I did with what I had after promising me that they will change the room the next day.
I refused their recommendation and I did with what I had painfully.

Very comfortable bed, good room. The decor of the whole place is really cool.
This is gonna sound stupid, but it’s at the top of a very steep hill. I had to take taxis with my bags because I couldn’t handle getting them up the hill.

Location was in a great part of New Town - really convenient location to the train station, and if you don't mind stairs and hills, a pretty convenient location for Old Town and the Royal Mile. Most of the staff were very friendly, and amenities were great! Very clean and cute rooms, and it was great having a mini fridge!
Pillows/bed were very hard and my back hurt after staying here. One of the front desk members was pretty unpleasant (albeit professional... Just noticeably unpleasant). My room was VERY warm, and there was no way to adjust the heat or crack open the windows.

Beautiful Scottish experience at this hotel, from the welcoming fire and selection of whiskys in the lobby to the tartain curtains and chairs. We stayed on the forth floor with a view towards Leith and the sea and was easily accessible via the lift.
The room was spacious enough for two people with a very comfy bed and windows that could be opened for fresh air.
The breakfast was exceptional with fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurt and quality cheeses, little pots of honey and jam and the cooked breakfast options were superb. The breakfast staff were also friendly and warm.
The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Waverly train station and very close to buses and restaurants. Just next to the hotel is Howies restaurant that showcases Scottish ingredients and is a lovely place for a special or romantic lunch or dinner.
Highly recommend the short walk up Calton Hill with amazing views across Edinburgh.
We did have an issue with a blocked toilet which was fixed after a few days. The staff were very helpful in getting it resolved.

Staff was nice.
Location hard to find on foot. Quirky hotel with smallish room. Lots of stairs to get to room. Hotel staff were kind and helped with my bag.
