The room was decorated attractively. The bathroom was modern and had a good shower. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Nothing much. Maybe a small shelf in the shower, for shampoo etc. If arriving on foot, the hotel is on a steep hill.

Location and the young woman at check in in the evening who was very helpful
Our room was obviously in the basement. There was no air, no circulation. There was no secondary door lock and the window faced a door from Howie’s that was always open. I didn’t feel safe and I did not pay 688 pounds sterling for a room in the basement.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Parliament House Hotel. Here are some highlights:
Excellent Location: Because it’s situated on the Royal Mile, I was within a short walking distance of Edinburgh’s historic and tourist attractions (the Castle, St. Giles’ Cathedral, Grassmarket, etc.). It’s also just a few minutes from Waverley Train Station, making it very convenient for getting around the city.
Clean and Comfortable Rooms: The bed was comfortable, the sheets smelled fresh, and the bathroom was both hygienic and functional. The street noise was minimal, which helped me get a good night’s sleep.
Friendly Staff: From the moment I arrived at reception, everyone was welcoming and attentive. The check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. They offered me useful tips about places to visit in the city and answered every question I had right away.
Historic Atmosphere: The building itself is historic, and the décor in the corridors and lobby gives off a true “boutique hotel” feel. I appreciated how they balanced modern comforts with the hotel’s historic character.
Complimentary Wi-Fi and Basic Amenities: The Wi-Fi connection was fast enough for work or planning my daily activities without any issues.
If you’re looking for a centrally located, clean, quiet, and welcoming hotel in Edinburgh, I can confidently recommend Parliament House Hotel. Booking through Booking.com was seamless, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. Overall, the hotel offered excellent value for the price.
I just want to mention that the heating system was sometimes stifling.

Loved the old world vibe to the hotel. We had a room on the top floor with dual aspect so the views were worth the climb up the stairs!
Lift didn't go to top floor. No dining room in the hotel.
