Lovely old hotel tucked away in a quiet corner just a few minutes' walk from Waverley station. Room was clean, beds comfortable and the bathroom was great with a huge walk-in shower. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice even towards the end of service time.
We had 2 very heavy cases, our room was on the top floor, great for views. However. The lift only goes to the floor below, meaning we had to drag our cases up 4 flights of stairs to get to our rooms. Not easy for people in their 70s! For the extortionate price we paid for the room I would have expected at least some help. If you're going to have heavy luggage ask for a room with access from the lift.

Excellent property in the centre of Edinburgh and just a short walk from the train station. It was down a quiet road off Prince Street. It was perfect in every way. I couldn’t have wished for a better property would certainly stay here again. Breakfast was great and great value for money. I would certainly stay at this property again. Staff was so nice welcoming and very helpful

The staff here are all wonderfully kind and helpful. This was my favourite thing about staying here. I also think the price I got, for a fairly last-minute booking, was not bad, and the room was a good size, comfortable, and very clean.
The hotel is housed in a beautiful, historic building and I simply loved the classic interior decoration.
Very good location, pretty much right around the corner from the high street, although it is a bit of an uphill walk so make sure you wear good shoes. Lots of good restaurants on the same street.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and would consider staying here again if I ever came back to Edinburgh.
The hotel's layout is a little complicated, especially for certain rooms. It can be confusing to navigate. Thankfully, after checking in one of the staff showed me to my room and then explained how to get to reception from there. There will be signs showing you the way to and fro, but again, it can take some getting used to.

The hotel is in a great location, lovely breakfast and comfortable rooms. If you have lots of luggage remember to request lift access as some rooms have stairs for access.
