Good location near a tram stop and easy walking distance to all the main sights. And the bed was comfortable.
First impressions count for a lot and ours were poor. Firstly a casual mention at check in that service was included in what we would pay. Fortunately I asked what this was but it took a while for them to admit it was an add on charge and only when I asked if it was optional. I found this to be outrageous. I’m sure most guests don’t realise they are being charged this. The hotel will no doubt say it is optional and goes to staff members BUT to deliberately try to avoid explaining this is scandalous. Secondly the concierge said he would take our bags. I said no but he took it anyway and proceeded to give us a hotel tour. Didn’t ask if we wanted it. I am perfectly capable of reading a sign that says where the room number is etc. likewise how a patio door opens. Thirdly our patio was covered in cigarette butts which took quite a bit of chasing to get cleared up ….. oh and while we were out someone had entered our room, presumably to look at the cigarette butts but not clear them up, and left our patio door open so other guests could easily access our room. But they weren’t really bothered about that.
The hotel is being renovated in parts so there are swarms of workmen about. Actually this is useful as the aircon doesn’t work in a lot of the rooms as our travelling group found so you can just grab a passing worker to dismantle your wardrobe and try and (usually unsuccessfully) fix it. To be fair the hotel needs renovating, the public area carpets are old and stained and the wallpaper drab and depressing.
So I wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it - for £400 a night there must be better options.

Lovely boutique hotel, right next door to the playhouse & omni centre. Great room with a huge comfy bed. Complimentary juices, water & nespresso coffee pods. Lovely bathroom with robe, slippers & Elemis toiletries. Had a luxury feel to the room & hotel. Staff were amazing, especially the guy who showed me to my room. I was surprised when I discovered the garden and seating area outside my room, which was lovely.
They add a service charge, which is absolutely fine but works out dearer than the price you think you are paying quoted on booking.com.

The decor is lovely and nice to be able to sit outside your room
for a 5 star hotel I would not rate it. Room not ready til after 4pm .

We had a fabulous welcome from the reception staff. Isaac was so lovely and enthusiastic. He looked so smart in his bespoke kilt outfit
Our room was spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant service was excellent.
My only gripe is that there was no freshly squeezed orange juice!!

Our room was spacious and had an outdoor terrace. The bar area and rooftop courtyard are great. We stayed there twice on the same trip and The air conditioning in our room was not working either time. The first visit when the temp was lower was not too bad. The second trip was miserable and we asked to be moved to another room after several attempts to fix the cooling.

Dusty n not overly clean. I actually wrote in the dust on small occasional tables in the hallway Receptionist didn’t offer advice on where our room was; luckily older porter was on hand. Radio in the room didn’t work

Location is great! The check in process was brisk and crisp! The room was good and comfortable. Well equipped in all respects! The only hitch being that every time you need to access the room, you need to pass through a horrendously long terrain of lobbies and the central bar. Breakfast was good and serve was great! Special mention for Gopi who was more than willing to help us with our choice.
As we enter our room, we're met with a gigantic pillar disturbing the flow of movement between the bathroom and the bed. What piece of architectural wonder that is...? Also on the penultimate day of our stay, we realised our room wasn't made up until 3pm. And at 3:30 we hear a knock from housekeeping if we're game for a room clean. We were tired and asked if that can be done when we go out for dinner. The answer was a thorough 'yes'! We returned to our room at 11pm, only to see that our room wasn't made. Bummer!!!!
